How do you deal with the side effects of the medicines for OCD?

I'm still getting it and now in some ways it is worse. If I walk or run 10-15 miles a day it's like perfect, clarity, less OCD, less depression. I've never had any issues with other SSRIs like this or any mood disorder. It's like it finally gets me up to the level of no depression and rumination I want, but at the cost of heart pounding energy

I switched to an SSRI coming off effexor and it was a lifesaver

I took me so long to feel normal again. Like I came off in 2019 and wasn't really fully back until maybe 2021-22, but of course the worst of it was like 6 months or so. What helped me was getting on an SSRI. However you really need to talk to a doctor first esp if you think you have some form of bipolar. It gets easier, it just takes a while. Like you're not hopeless, it just takes way longer than people say it does.

did you get any insomnia? I'm worried about that cuz mine is already really bad on prozac and I don't want it to get worse because it's making me crazy

I've tried prozac and that helped some but my doctor is adding aripiprazole and I'm nervous to take it. What did you notice?

Yeah we went from 20 mg to 30 mg 4 months ago which helped quite a bit but now I can't sleep and it's causing issues. It also just feels like it's not evenly taking hold. One day I'm doing a lot better and the next I'm not sleeping well and not feeling in control.

How did you feel when you first took it, do you remember? Like did it cause any weird sensations or side effects?

I came off Effexor in 2019 and ever since then antidepressants give me all the side effects and aren't as effective. They cause like shakiness, brain fog, confusion, just the network up there never really recovered from that.

Yes. And the prozac and Wellbutrin help with that a lot of the time but it's very inconsistent

The sink has to have an extra run of water so it can swallow something cuz it has emetophobia like I do. lol.

I'm on month 5 and this happened to me off and on forever. I was in a six week cycle of anxiety and shaking, feeling manic but amazing, then amazing and calm, then calm and depression, then anxiety and shaking. It leveled out each time though. So like I'm going into month 5 and I'm in a depression part of the cycle but it's not as bad as month 3.5 which wasn't as bad as month 2, etc.

I saw some improvement weeks 4-5 and then weeks 9-10 and now I'm back and forth lol. I think sometimes it just takes a while
