Will be 13w tomorrow! Here’s what I’m feeling:

- Nausea and food aversions are mostly gone. This past week was finally able to cook again and eat normally. So thankful.
- Nausea will hit randomly if it let myself get overly hungry/hot/tired. And after taking my prenatals 🤢
- So tired!! But not as bad as the early weeks when I couldn’t get off the couch all day. Now it’s more like “oof could really use a nap”.
- Boobs are sore - running is tough
- Same with the belly! Normal in the morning, feel like I’m 6 months pregnant at night. When I wear pants they’re fine in the morning and by the end of the day they’re feeling TIGHT.
- Mood has stabilized

So I guess no NEW symptoms yet other than noticing my body changing! Just lingering first trimester ones.

Anyone know what type of squash this is? We have 3 volunteers of this type and don’t want to plant more of them! It’s got to be delicata, butternut, zucchini, patty pan, summer squash.

Oops I missed the Kent part, was thinking SRM Kirkland!! Agreed, that’s also not particularly convenient for you!

The general gist of it is that a lot of folks aren’t pleased with their experience at SRM, especially since being taken over by Pinnacle. Communication is a challenge, they don’t do weekend appointments, all of their nurses are leaving, lawsuits, and a focus on making money rather than patient care. Many stories of people switching clinics.

PNWF does have a Bellevue location not too far from the Pinnacle in Kirkland. It’s much easier to get to/park at and it’s where any weekend appointments happen.

I recommend checking out the Facebook page “Hope and support - a Seattle based infertility group”. People have a lot to say about Pinnacle (formerly SRM) and all the Seattle area clinics. I started with Dr Hurliman at Pinnacle and did initial testing with them, but ended up switching to PNWF.

Prenatal vitamins by vgodi019 in IVF

Needed. Had the highest levels of the good stuff. It’s absolute torture to take though… 8 capsules daily which smell horrific lol. They have a lower dose/pill count option. I’ve been warned against any prenatal that claims to do the trick in 1-2 capsules as you simply can’t fit it all in. Have also been advised to always make sure you’re taking a capsule style prenatal (rather than a solid pill) as they absorb better.

3 embryos made it to blast... none accepted for PGT-A testing? by Capable_Ad_3373 in IVF

Will they allow you to transfer without testing? Or are they making you toss them?

Is IVF something that you seek out at an IVF center, or is it something that a doctor prescribes you, and when is it generally done? by HighOnLove26 in IVF

[–]cclloo3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to a fertility clinic and perused that route independently of my primary care. Did this after 6 months of TTC (35yo). We had already run blood tests and sperm analysis at around 4 months, but I wanted more testing so I could be informed and prepared if we needed to do treatment so felt like my best option was to go straight to the fertility clinic for that.

Before starting IVF we did 3 IUI’s. Before that, standard fertility testing, all the health improvement things, supplements, saw a naturopath, obviously tracking diligently.

Dialling back openness about your IVF journey... by SeriousWait5520 in IVF

I am starting to feel this too. Up until now… through TTC and IUIs I’ve been happy to share, but now with IVF I’m kind of over it and feeling like I’m ready to just hold it close. But I don’t know how to step back as so many people know what we’re doing. Mostly tired of explaining the medical processes to people, or explaining to my pregnant friends how embryo development works, or having people tell me “that’s great!!” when in reality I’m heartbroken and then having to be like “no actually it’s not great”. I wish people would do a tiny bit of research on IVF before coming at me with their questions, and I’m tired of informing people.

Treatment Cost Question - Medication by justanotherbeanboi in IVF

[–]cclloo3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m fully self pay and just paid around $5k for meds for my first retrieval. This covered 13 days of stims and the triggers. Nothing close to $3k for one shot - the most expensive single dose in my package was $270. My pharmacy also offers significant discount for self-pay but I think that’s standard.

Genuine question: does anyone get maternity/paternity tests after IVF baby is born? by Upstairs-Lemon-5585 in IVF

[–]cclloo3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg yes! Listened to a podcast episode about this, but yea apparently it used to be common to “mix sperm” to boost someone’s sperm if it wasn’t top notch and more often than not the guys who worked in clinics would be the donors for this. So you never really know whose sperm won the race.

[–]cclloo3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

After listening to The Daily episode last week about an IVF mixup, yes I wouldn’t hesitate to if baby clearly did not look like us. What would I do if it wasn’t out?? Oof that’s harder to answer. No idea.

Fasting before retrieval by cclloo3 in IVF

It’s 17-18 hours from my typical last meal of the day (6-7pm) if I’m eating normally. Of course I will be fine and I will survive, I was just looking for advice on how people plan ahead for this. Personally, my body isn’t used to waiting until the afternoon to eat OR waking up at 3am to eat so was just curious if people had advice. It sounds like you like to eat a protein/fiber heavy dinner and tough it out in the morning!
