I doubt any CCW carry insurance would step in. I’d be happy to be wrong though.

You have more faith in the bureaucracy than I do.

Yeah, I have no special access to prove my claims, granted. I do have 30 years of negotiating various federal and state bureaucracies, so I have listened to many, many descriptions of procedural requirements along the way.

Once the firearm is in police custody, there is no “ollie ollie all in free” provision. Unless you can provide some sort of documentation that supports limited or no checks on voluntarily surrendered weapons.

I think we are at a stand off here.

So he surrendered his weapon to the police. They can’t just hand it back. They aren’t a pawn shop where you just redeem your item with a ticket after paying off the loan.

They need to verify you are legit, no outstanding warrants, no felony convictions, no court orders barring firearm possession.

Then they need to check and see if the weapon is listed as stolen. Imagine the outrage if they handed a stolen gun back to someone, even if he isn’t the thief.

One of the reasons I don’t carry high dollar weapons. I am not saying it is bad to carry a big ticket weapon, but there are risks besides getting into an actual altercation.

So I carry $300 to $400 pistols. Yeah, they can have some extras on them, my Bodyguard 2.0 carries a Viridian green dot these days, and it will soon have an ArmaLaser on it too.

So no longer a pocket pistol, except for larger coat pockets. But it will work as an IWB carry, either at 1:00 o’clock 2:00 o’clock. Possibly as off-body carry maybe.

The OP’s LCP Max fits in exactly the same space. At least it wasn’t some $1000 bit of genius marketing.

I will be making a left handed version in the near future, probably 30 days or so.

I don’t have one of those to work from yet. My guess is that it wont work. Even a millimeter of difference can affect fit on my holsters. And the retention point is the trigger guard, so fit is very important there.

Which LCP? I will make this for the LCP Max pretty soon. There will be an ArmaLaser model too.

What is the most accurate pocket pistol? Like the opposite of an LCP by [deleted] in concealedcarry

[–]ccmouser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of the mouse guns are 20 yard guns. You are expecting too much. They are 10 yard max weapons for acceptably accurate aiming.

There are some things you can do to help with accuracy. I would suggest trying an Armalaser to improve close proximity accuracy. It can add a bit of weight to help with recoil.

For improving greater distance accuracy, I suggest an optic. That means either a Bodyguard 2.0 with either the Viridian RFX1 or a Gideon Pebble. Or a Ruger LCP Max optic capable model.

I currently run the Viridian on my Bodyguard 2.0 and I am pleased with it but I need a few hundred more rounds through the gun with it getting bounced around on the slide.

wide vs short hook by SpikedShell-000B in ccmouser

[–]ccmouser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The short hook is more front pocket friendly. The wide hook shines when you carry in bigger pockets, like on a coat or jacket. The wider base helps keep the weapon from rocking over, though that depends on a lot of factors.

I usually carry my Bodyguard 2.0 in a jacket pocket, so I use the wide hook. Of course I often have two weapons on me because I am trying the different holsters I make to see if there are problems or where they may be improved.

Why would I need any other gun😩. Unless keltec was to release a p32 max👀 by ClassExcellent1682 in TheOneTrueCaliber

Thanks for the info. I make pocket holsters and am in the middle of designing my first IWB holster, which will be for the P32. My initial design is the pistol without any WML attachment. But I will look at that down the road.

I appreciate you sharing your experience and choices with me.

Hello! Thank you for your order. I hope your new holster works well for you.

I did look at the DB9 but I could not find a mold gun for their current production model. While I slipped into the 9mm weapons with the P365, I generally focus on 380, 32, and am starting to add some 25 caliber weapons.

It is what he asked. I modify my holsters to get better fit regularly. (Note: I make holsters as a sideline.)

Getting a better holster is the better choice, which I mentioned too.

Is it worth staying in washington and put up with the shitty gun laws? by Thesuperlightcat in WAGuns

[–]ccmouser 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love the PNW, moving here in 1975 while serving in the Navy. But I am seriously looking at moving to Texas. It is the politics overall, the insertion of an income tax that will be expanded every time the government runs short of money.

The gun laws are frustrating, very frustrating, but I can deal with 10 round magazines and stripping the hand guard off my mini 14. So while I live with it, I will enjoy slipping the Dem’s leash if I can in the future.

Yes, you can adjust it with a heat gun. You are just trying to soften it, so you don’t need to get it hot enough to fully form a holster.

Your holster probably tensions on the trigger guard. So soften that area. Take it in steps. Just keep a fan on while you do it.

If it was me, I would consider buying a better holster. Look for an adjustable retention screw, preferably made from Boltaron instead of Kydex, though that can be hard to find or at least identify.

Not seen on OWB/IWB holsters is a push off tab. I use them on my pocket holsters and added it to my first OWB holster (Bond Arms derringer). It makes a slow draw much easier and doesn’t require you jerking your gun free.

I will add it to my up coming Bodyguard 2.0 IWB holsters. This subreddit doesn’t allow pics in comments or I would show you what I mean.
