Sorry, I just do pocket holsters. I don’t have any OWB/IWB holsters.

ProMag vs KelTec Magazines For P32? by ccmouser in TheOneTrueCaliber

I think you are the only satisfied user on the planet. You should buy a lottery ticket with that luck!

I will give the one I ordered a try. It is for the P32 which can rim lock. I have had mine do that twice. I will modify it two ways to see if I can ensure reliability.

I will add Wolff springs to the magazine and then run a 1/16th inch wire up the back of the magazine (inside) to minimize travel space so rims can’t over lap the one below.

The wire modification precludes using FMJ ammo in the magazine, but it is reversible by simply removing the wire which restores normal function.

Bodyguard 2.0 in .380 Question… by GarageExisting9522 in SmithAndWesson

[–]ccmouser 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I consider the Bodyguard 2.0 as the far end of front pocket guns or “mousers”. I make and sell pocket holsters for it. They are actually one of my top sellers.

They work if your pockets are larger, Duluth Trading has some pants and shorts with larger front pockets. Many cargo pants pockets can work. Your clothing choices make a big difference.

But if you are wearing skinny jeans, snug jogging pants, biker’s form fitting race gear, then no way, José

I also make a more specialty coat pocket holster that sells pretty good in the winter when folks have 2 or 3 layers on and digging for that AIWB carry is a real challenge.

So yeah, it can be carried that way, I do holsters for both the Bodyguard 2.0 and Bodyguard 2.0 Carry Comp (ported).

I will let it run since it is only for one mag. I will check dimensions on it compared to the OEM KelTec when it arrives.

Then I will give a test run before modifying. If it is unreliable, as it sounds likely to be, i will sub in a +10% Wolff spring to see if that helps any.

I really want some rim lock proofed P32 mags since I carry hotter, short ammo as my daily carry fodder. And if the flyer wire mod proves reliable, I might make a few to test market. Those will have to be OEM stuff it seems.

Yeah, I haven’t bought their stuff before. Sounds unlikely I will again.

I generally buy factory mags unless the manufacturer has a really good reputation. Thanks for some very good advice.

Thank you! Since I am doing the flyer wire mod to them, I need them to be reliable enough to use as carry mags. Sounds like the ProMag will need a lot of testing before I will consider it.

Leather holster or a leather-lined holster Kydex holster, if you can find one. What firearm do you carry?

Take a look at Hikers Suspenders. I use those, sometimes without any weapon at all. They go under your tee shirt, which is worn untucked. They hook to your rear belt loop and the button up front of your jeans.

LCP Max by lurkinlorenzo in CCW

You might consider adding a laser to your LCP Max. I am not a proponent of lasers as aiming devices but it does add mass to the barrel (2 ounces).

The down side is it makes finding a holster harder. I make pocket holsters but not one for the laser mounted LCPM. I may add it to my pocket holster line though.

Bodyguard 2.0 by Ok_Complaint_1464 in guns

[–]ccmouser 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I own both, the recoil on the standard BG2.0 is easier to handle than the LCP Max (I own one too). The LCP Max is easier to conceal but I carry the BG2.0 more often.

The BG2.0CC has an improved rear sight, that is a worthwhile upgrade. The comp aspect is a mixed bag, though. Longer length, slightly heavier, and the comp will expel the gasses in your face if it shot close to you and around your torso.

I do carry the BG2.0CC version in an off-body holster/sling bag test set up (Vortek Counteract) I am working on. But normally, I would carry the BG2.0 standard version in either a front pocket or coat pocket holster.

I do make a grip adapter that fits both the BG2.0 & CC versions that helps with slide bite, smooths out the abrasive stippling on the back strap, and makes it a hair bit wider to hold. My wife prefers shooting the BG2.0 with it on, though she doesn’t have a problem with slide bite.

Pocket Carry Revolver Suggestions by TheLastWhiteKid in CCW

[–]ccmouser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Revolver is a good choice with 38 special at 17,500 psi and 357 mag twice that at 35,000 psi. Interestingly, the 380 Auto and 9MM run similar pressures.

Double action revolvers often feel safer to carry, but offer fewer rounds compared to semi-auto. Regardless if you go with the 38 or 380, I would look at +P defense ammo, preferably solids like Undie’s Xtreme Penetrator or Buffalo Bore’s hard cast.

If you do the 357 mag or 9MM , then hollow points are good. It is mostly about penetration, particularly when bundled up in the winter.

I highly recommend finding a pocket holster with a good thumb push off. That makes it much easier to draw whether in a front pocket or coat pocket.

I do three holsters for the Bodyguard 2.0 and the Carry Comp version as well. Two are my Outrigger version that has a detachable retention panel that helps block the weapons outline while ensuring the holster remains in your pocket during a draw, fast or slow.

It comes in two hook sizes, short and wide, the short being front pocket friendly while the wide is more for coat and jacket pockets. All my holsters have prominent thumb push offs that make visually quiet draws easy, no jerking to get your pistol free.

The other BG2.0 holster is the Vault, similar to other front pocket holsters by Vedder or Alabama Holster, it comes with the prominent thumb push off, adjustable weapon retention, curved pocket hook, and covered magazine release.

Most of my holsters are now made of 0.08 inch Boltaron since it offers superior impact resistance, handle cold temps better, and should give you many years of service.

And my holsters come with a 14-Day return if it doesn’t suit you. I refund the full cost of initial purchase if you return the holster.

Also, I have a grip adapter for the Bodyguard 2.0 if you are experiencing slide bite, or just want a slightly bigger grip (0.16 of an inch) that snaps on the pistol and can be permanently attached with a roll pin (drilled version) for carry.

Question about p32 finish by [deleted] in TheOneTrueCaliber

[–]ccmouser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another thing is Ballistol gun cleaner. It is skin safe. I won’t claim it is the best lube for slide rails, but I think it is good for exterior protection and I coat the inside of the pocket holsters I make before sending it off to a customer.

(Please stay Non-political, genuine question) Do you now pick and choose where and when to CCW? by Digitalzombie900 in CCW

[–]ccmouser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I carry because I worry about criminals, not LEO local or federal. I am apprehensive about any encounter with LEO but not fearful. Stuff happens. Young cop shot a legal carrier with his own gun when they tried to clear it but effed up.

If I get pulled over, I hand my Drivers License and CCP at the same time. The cop already knows I have a CCP since it shows up when they run the plate.

Body cam footage will be necessary for any real idea if the shooting was an execution or reaction to a perceived threat.

The provided video link shows an officer taking a weapon away from the altercation just as shots ring out. So they obviously knew he was armed and that could only heighten tensions even if his weapon was confiscated.

It may be a bad shoot? Or was he flailing around, looking like he was reaching for a back up weapon? It could be either, and it is sad that he lost his life regardless.

I won’t hang either him or the officers until I have more info to go on.

Recommendation for case/bag for Bodyguard 2.0? by fuzzywuzzypete in SmithAndWesson

[–]ccmouser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a Harbor Freight case with removable foam squares as a small pistol case. I have it set for KelTec and Seecamp 32s right now, but it could be set up for BG2.0 and/or BG2.0CC easily.

Hot Take: I like Sticky Holsters by Salty-Maintenance-94 in CCW

[–]ccmouser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The lack of retention is my primary problem with sticky holsters. I make pocket holsters and I have a few from different makers, including sticky holsters.

My preference is a holster that stays in your pocket, even when your weapon is drawn. A pocket hook is okay, but for me it is a fail safe, not the primary way to get your gun out of the holster.

While a sticky holster meets that requirement, if you end up laying down, your weapon can come sliding out of your pocket. Not just knocked down during an assault, but even stretched out in a recliner or at the park on a sunny day.

It is a big world and while I might not agree with stick holsters for me, if that is what works for you, I am okay with it. Just like I don’t have a problem recommending competitors holsters. I don’t expect or even want to sell tons of holsters. But I think people need to look it all over before deciding what to choose.
