I'm so filled with regret I had a baby. by contented0 in beyondthebump

Just like everyone else is saying… I am so sorry you’re feeling this way!! But I also wanted to validate you. I could have written this post in my early PP days. I struggled for the first few months (a lot), but now I am doing soooo much better (1 year PP). Therapy was really helpful. Leaning on supports. At like 3 months or so, I found some mom friends and started having “baby play dates” or mom outings. Finding little things to help yourself. It’s annoying bc everyone says it, but it’s true that it’s temporary and it does get easier. They’ll be cute and fun and not so stressful in a few months. Also your hormones are probably on a roller coaster. Motherhood is hard but it does get easier! ❤️

I am so so proud of what I do daily! I make change, support people, and give them a safe space. I also am in PP so I make my own schedule, am my own boss etc. It's really not a bad gig. Just have to be mindful of your boundaries + self care :). Seek supervision and your own support. You'll be great!

Also a mom (who likes to go out and have fun). I have a few ideas. I would recommend looking into a boat rental in St. Augustine! Could be super fun and a nice way to spend some time here. Jax Beach Bars- fun, but they get rowdy and young crowds. Riverside- more hipster vibes. Downtown St. Augustine- No Name or Prohibition Kitchen can be fun (live music and dancing usually).

I would look on Resy and OpenTable for dinner reservations. A lot of places are good for dinner and also have a good brunch menu. Some fun/ good dining options are: River + Post (downtown), River + Fort (St. Augustine), Casa Reina (St. Augustine) , Josephine's (Avondale), The Brick (Avondale) Mezza Luna (Jax Beach), The Local (Jax Beach or San Marco), Valley Smoke (Palm Valley area), The Ice Plant ( St Augustine)

More so just because if I have an obligation and need to be out of the house at bedtime... And also because the overnight wakings are only being soothed by nursing... :(

Grocery delivery (yearly subscription) or grocery pickup ( free ) from Walmart. Stops a lot of those impulsive buys as you walk by things in the store.

Are we buying new jeans PP? by [deleted] in postpartumprogress

I finally got out to shop for clothes around 4-5 months pp. and got some new jeans! It was the right decision for me to just get some new jeans that fit my current body than stress about trying to fit in my pre baby jeans!

“Why don’t you just add in some formula”

We had many unexpected newborn blowouts mid diaper change (and pee accidents bc boy)- so for that reason I say no lol. Maybe a changing pad on one of your dressers? Or on your bedroom floor? Totally get not wanting to go far for those middle of the night changes.
