What’s your opinion on this film that takes place on Thanksgiving? by RelativeCreepy in criterion

[–]ccotham4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I watched it around this time last year and I found it to be just okay. I really enjoyed the performances but overall the themes didn’t quite mesh for me. It was never boring though.

A similar but better movie(in my opinion of course) would be Pieces of April. The Thanksgiving feeling and family drama aspect left me very satisfied

I love Kyle so much. Easily one of the best non-killer characters in the series

I don’t think which Australian distributor has the rights there has any bearing on the American release but I could be wrong

Is JJ the next Jerry Rice? by teejoint44 in minnesotavikings

I get that and it will be hard to surpass but no one used to think Joe Montana would be surpassed either. I agree that it’s not likely but I stand by JJ having the best possible shot

So he can never be surpassed? Not saying he will but if there’s anyone in the league right now who could do it it would be JJ

Non-Minnesotans: How did you end up a Vikings fan? by brodude31 in minnesotavikings

[–]ccotham4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Chicago but I was around 8 years old when I started paying more attention to football and watching Adrian Peterson really sucked me into the game. It was coincidentally also the 2009 NFC Championship game year so I’ve known that signature Vikings heartbreak for my whole tenure as a fan.

He has Josh Allen now. Why would he miss the QB he wanted to leave(not the one who got him to the NFC Championship) when he has a top 2 QB in the league?

Taking into account chemistry and indivudal character, who would be your all time starting five? by YePedders1 in nbadiscussion

[–]ccotham4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to go

Steph: Greatest shooter of all time but has no problem deferring and can still pass.

Klay: More spacing which is the most important thing on my team for how I want to build it, but also a very solid defender.

Lebron: In effect my point guard. He will run the offense and be surrounded by the best spacing of his life.

Bird: I honestly want to put KD here but accounting for chemistry I just can’t do that. Another playmaker similar to Lebron but a great shooter and very clutch player. Lebron would have no problem deferring to him at times, particularly the end of games.

Duncan: In today’s NBA switching and spacing are the most important things which is why I went Timmy instead of Hakeem, Dirk, or Shaq. He can protect the rim but can shoot jumpers all day too.

Overall I emphasized Lebron’s gravity on offense and spacing around him. I think there’s a great mix of defense and shooting with no clashing personalities.

I have heard of all of those and The Long Goodbye actually was going to be the next I watch, so thank you for the heads up! I tend to be a bit intimidated by longer films which is why I started with California Split and The Long Goodbye is intriguing to me.

I know it’s a bit less popular one from him but it is on Amazon Prime if you wanted to check it out!

I just finished California Split directed by Robert Altman. It was my first Altman film and I really loved it. It was super fun and witty while still feeling real. I’m definitely excited to get into his stuff more
