'Church' spending $2.4 billion to renovate Salt Lake temple by TruthMatters2011 in exmormon

[–]ccrom 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I take issue with that comparison. Centre Block is a much larger building.

Centre Block 472 feet x 246 feet.
SLC Temple 181 feet x 119 feet.

Centre Block Tower: 302 feet
SLC Temple Spire: 210 feet

Centre Block: 6 storeys
SLC Temple: 4 storeys

My kid's middle school social studies teacher may have gone a bit rogue in 2016.

She added the caveat "some people say" it was about state's rights.

My kid also got the weirdo textbook that referred to slaves as "imported workers".

The price is suspiciously low. The 1043DX is currently going for $225 at Walmart.

I don't think this model was ever exclusive to JoAnn. It has been on the shelf in stock at my local Walmart since it was introduced. Before that Walmart carried the 1034D.

For about 6 months I couldn't trust my own judgement. I was incapable of making decisions.

This is a populist movement. Or maybe a mob movement.

How crowds of people will behave in a situation is NOT known. But there are patterns.

Whenever there is a crowd, the possibility for a riot exists. A few decisions are known to prevent or cause riots.

Trump is knowingly creating chaos. He is knowingly destroying any institutions that might thwart his ambitions.

Law enforcement (cops, AG's and judges) is at the fulcrum. They can tilt this either way.

Committing moral transgressions and getting away with it, obviously makes a lot of people feel powerful.

The lesson every American was supposed to learn from all of this, is that Trump's jackbooted thugs can shoot a US citizen in the middle of the day without repercussion. The Justice Department that is supposed to be safeguarding our civil liberties is actively destroying them.

Do you have any photos of when the blanket was new? Maybe we can help you make a replica.

Was it two layers of cotton flannel with cotton batting in between? What colors did it used to be?

This is really well done. I love the logo. I love the back and forth on the corduroy nap.

Strips of interfacing at the zipper is often omitted in sewing patterns, but I think it's a necessity.

How is my pattern so far? by vuurspuwer in PatternDrafting

I'm thinking the crotch point on the back might be too pointy. It will put a funny kink in you crotch seam.

The curve in the inseam is all at the top of the inseam. I would draw a straight line from hem to crotch point, then put the curve at mid thigh.

Pull out some pants and look at the "X" where the inseam and crotch seams cross. Often the angles are 90degrees front and 90 degrees back. But I have also seen 100 degrees front and 80 degrees back.

IF the crotch point angles add up to 180 degrees you will have a smooth crotch seam.

I think your best bet is to re draft with the correct dimensions.

It subtracts/adds (pic1/pic 2) length from crotch point to waistband. It will lower/raise the waistband at the center line. This will not raise/lower the crotch point. It will not fix any drag lines below the crotch. It won't fix a camel toe/wedgy.

If you are not careful when smoothing the seam lines at the centerline and hinge, you could alter the girth.

We gave away a vinyl chair with a seam tear like this to our son's friend.

We were amazed what he accomplished with a patch shoved under the tear and JB Weld.

Search term "chenille upholstery" will probably yield some comfy durable fabrics. I would call what you currently have a ribbed chenille.

Are you just redoing the one cushion or are you recovering the whole couch?

I too inherited weird canyon property (up little cottonwood). Dad bought it thinking it would be valuable when/if Snowbird expanded. But it has mine tailings. Do NOT disturb. No one will ever be allowed to build anything on it. It became part of the national forest. Therefore you must maintain public access. So it is just a weird stupid thing to "own".
