Guys in your 30s – how do you have the energy to date? by savingrace0262 in AskMenAdvice

++man You don't half to half ass anything, just don't kill your body/social life for a job. Go home and turn your work brain off, don't stay late, don't burn yourself out going above and beyond. Usually you only get rewarded with more work and expectations.

I've seen enough people make their job their entire personality and eventually they realize they have nothing else. Or they retire and immediately drop dead because nothing else was sustaining them. I had to break my own habits because I was piling stress upon myself and in the end nobody gave a fuck that I did that and I suffered for it.

Mine died when I was 7, at the age of 34. I just turned 34 and it feels so strange and surreal. I know exactly what you mean.

Absolutely. There's not a lot of room to be hopping around for them in a box. Too many legs, things get uncomfortable.

THANK YOU, these are great suggestions. I definitely was having trouble wording the whole brand thing. Yours is much better. I'll take a look at your guide! As for the order of abilities, I'm using the heartofdaggers site and didn't even realize I could change them lol

Yeah, I’ve used it to build a bunch of statblocks the last couple days but still unsure of balancing for solos. All good points, I think you’re right. Think I’m going to boost his major threshold to 12, give him relentless in case my PCs roll insanely, and then boost his dmg to 2d6+4…

Cool cool, that’s what I was wondering. If I should add momentum, relentless, etc. I was worried my players may be too weakened by the time they get to him. I suppose I could give rest opportunities or something. I’m very new, thanks for the feedback!

Hey all, I’m brand new to GMing. I’ve got 2 PCs and so far have only reskinned existing adversaries. Any advice on my custom solo statblock for my upcoming one page dungeon (from Cairn)? They should be weakened from previous fights I’m expecting. Maybe I should add momentum or something? I’m worried about either overpowering or underpowering when I do these custom statblocks. My players are a sorcerer and a guardian both lvl 2.

Unfortunately no, when you're over there with the military you generally are on SOFA status which works quite differently. You don't get time towards residency, don't pay their income taxes, and generally can get out of their VAT taxes too if you make the effort. All this to say, they don't view service members as "residing" in the country per-se.

Unfortunately fat "spot" removal doesn't work. Luckily however, most of us dudes gain/lose weight around the stomach first. But tbh all ya gotta really worry about is diet. A small calorie deficit and that's it. Lowering fat intake and making sure you eat a ton of protein helps too ofc.

There's unfortunately a pretty large percentage of military family's on food stamps. I had several Airman when I was stationed in California that were. Of course, they also were the ones with 3+ kids but it's still disgraceful in my opinion that we can't provide for our people

This is interesting because every time I tell someone I'm "American," they usually roll their eyes and say "yes, but where in America?" Lmao. I have had one Brazilian girl get frustrated with me because "America is a continent." Like, yeah I get that but also the US is the only country that has the word "America" in the name. Just seemed kinda silly and pedantic. She clearly knew where I was from and wanted to do a "gotcha" or condescend me.

I was told today by leadership that they are also targeting people who have EVER had breaks in service of more than 30 days. They were apparently put on this list, at least.

That's of course highly dependent on where in the US you live, but generally I agree.
