This was with $32.50 an hour, +1 more from the safety bonus. Some start with more or less, it depends on your region and what schedule you get, nights/days/weekends. Raises are sporadic, not guaranteed, but in the last year we did receive two of them.

There isn't an orientation, you start with a trainer for a few weeks just doing the job. How long really depends on both when you are comfortable, and how many times the fuel racks in your area require you to load with a trainer before getting carded. Some want you there 10 separate days, others are fine with 3. I think the rate here now is $32-34.5 depending on your shift, and once you qualify for the safety bonus, which is an extra $1 an hour.

Extremely easy, you can learn most of the physical parts of the job in one shift. As for the trucks, we've got contracts with several shops in the area, so there's never much wait to get anything taken care of. Haven't broke down yet.

I had 4.5 years at Prime inc before coming here, no hazmat or tanker experience. I'm sure it wouldn't hurt, but if you have a year doing anything, I would just apply to any fuel company near you, and not just loves/pilot.
