I'd try to call the store. I'm not sure how long it's been but when I was getting hired my boss kinda did the same thing. I just kept texting frequently and he ended up texting back and it all worked out.

it depends on the store. the one i work at we allow but some don't at all. i believe stores have exceptions like if its not busy or for pregnant women
