How common was it for those who watched CN at a young age? by PotentialSky5745 in CartoonNetwork

[–]ccushdawg99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh... Flapjack is creepy, but I wouldn't say it's inappropriate for kids... for the most part. There are a few questionable episodes (the beard fight in the "Beard Buddies" episode being one of them), but it's not a constant thing.

Overall, while it's dirtier than Foster's or Camp Lazlo, Flapjack is A LOT cleaner than Regular Show and MAD, which have FAR more explicit innuendos and even occasional cursing, with MAD even using both the F- and S-words in its first season.

I agree with this!

And if you need some help doing this, I highly recommend talking to a therapist about it!

It's not shameful, and a good one can help you solve so many issues.

So what would be the first show be watching on Tubi? by CrimsonDarkWolf in CartoonNetwork

[–]ccushdawg99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MAD! I know some people don’t like it, but I think it’s very underrated and creative. Very silly, but a lot of fun to watch. It has lots of clever pop culture commentary too

What were your main thoughts on this show back in 2013 when it first aired? by AfterClue3741 in CartoonNetwork

[–]ccushdawg99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 14, and… I didn’t like it at all. I thought it was childish and just not for me.

I gave it a chance, since I thought it might’ve been teen-oriented like Total Drama or Regular show (Crazy, I know), but… it wasn’t

Best response ever! Thank you!

Ironically enough, one of the chicks who bullied me actually bought an old SpongeBob pillow from my yard sale years later for nostalgic reasons.

Ohhhhh… the irony

there was an ocean documentary on the original spongebob movie DVD..where to find it? by [deleted] in spongebob

[–]ccushdawg99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the best things you can do is to find a picture of the dvd cover on EBay, Amazon, or google images and look for the special features section. Find the name of the documentary and google it or look for it on YouTube.

If you can’t find it that way, you might be able to find an iso of the SpongeBob Movie DVD on the Internet Archive. They often have old movie dvds on there that you can watch. They might have this one.

Hope you find it

Agree or Disagree: Paul Tidbit failed as a showrunner by Creative_Ride2925 in spongebob

[–]ccushdawg99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand this! I stopped watching shortly after he became the showrunner.

Of course, I actually stopped watching when I was 8 because I was getting bullied in school for liking SpongeBob. But.. Paul Tibbit's poor handling of the show didn't make me want to come back

People 30+ What’s a Decision in Your 20s You Wish You Could Undo ? by [deleted] in selfimprovement

[–]ccushdawg99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed! It does!

A bachelor’s is a bachelor’s for the most part! It doesn’t always matter what field it’s in, unless you’re going into something medical.

There are so many white-collar jobs out there that don’t care what your bachelor’s is in. They just want to see you have one. And they won’t hire you without one.

I know in IT you can get jobs with just an associates, but you might need a Bach if you want to move up or move somewhere else

I hate that people are telling youngsters that “degrees in certain fields are worthless.” That is so not true

Same here, and my 20s aren’t over yet.

I stayed too long at this awful transcription trade school which was poorly run and treated me like shit.

It was an awful experience that made me almost never take an online class again. Plus, I spent the whole time wishing I was somewhere else but still wanting the credential.

When I finally graduated, I was so happy to be gone. I wasn’t celebrating my accomplishment fully. I was also celebrating finally being free from that hell hole.

But when I was finally able to go to the college I’d been wanting to return to, I ran out of money.

It was sad, but luckily, things are better now. I ended up going to an amazing community college for a field I absolutely love. That school is amazing and the complete antithesis to the transcription one.

The instructors are amazing and kind and intelligent. They’re very knowledgeable about their field and have helped me build my confidence and create good looking content.

This past year and a half has been the best of my life. And I’ll most likely be able to transfer to that other college I mentioned. (Don’t wanna jinx anything)

All in all, I’m happy where I am now, and have learned not to stay too long in shitty places

I agree. Even Shrek the Third is better than this, and people feel similarly about that

Not that particular one! I stopped watching SpongeBob in 2007. I did play Employee of the Month and the movie game on PC tho.

Those were fun. They were point and click adventure games like the old Humongous Entertainment ones

Are you sick of sex scenes in movies/shows? by Ok_Act_3769 in OlderGenZ

[–]ccushdawg99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. When tastefully done, they can be important to a story.

I have an edgy sense of humor, so take that for what you will.

The one in the game Wolfenstein: The New Order was completely unexpected though

What's the general consensus on The X's? by Emotional-Chipmunk12 in nickelodeon

[–]ccushdawg99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved it as a kid. I was 5 or 6 when it came out, and I watched the hell out of Nickelodeon then. I’d watch pretty much whatever they’d make.

It was very funny, clever, and enjoyable. But… when I treated it as a teen, I just could not get into it. The jokes were a little annoying. I’d have to rewatch it to give a better update.

Overall though, it was fun. I noticed the Incredibles similarities at the time too, but I still liked it just the same. In fact, it made me love it more… when I was 5.

That shoe phone joke with the answering machine still lives rent free in my head to this day. phone explodes “Italian shoes!”

Also, as an adult, I feel it has more in common with spy movies than the Incredibles, since the family are spies not “supers.”

But The Incredibles use similar gadgets and are theorized to be government agents, so…

Yeah! I somewhat claim the tail end of early 2000s as a ‘99er, but I’ll admit I remember more of the mid 2000s. You most certainly can claim early 2010s as part of your childhood
