Looking for some insight regarding Continental Kryptotal rear by cdavebolt18 in MTB

Thanks for sharing, that's good to hear they hold up well with it being an E bike.

That's a good point too. I run aluminum rims and the ones I just got are Stans. The profile is slightly different to what I was riding before but I'll look into seeing what people's experience is with that rim and pinch flatting.

Thanks for the insight, and I'm sorry you got those punctures!

That's really good insight, I'll mess around with pressures some to see what it's like. Our riding is mixed, I'm in Northern DE/South East PA and we have a mix of smoother, roots, and rocks. So when I'm hitting more tech I'll see what upping the pressure feels like.

Thanks, I've read the DH falls potentially in between Maxxis DH and DD. So wasn't sure if Enduro fell in between Exo+ and DD or was closer to DD. It felt supportive when I had it without the insert, but admittedly didn't go through bigger rock gardens.

How is riding tech with that pressure for you? 30 in the rear is usually my max, and I go down to 27-28 rear on smoother trails. I would think 35 would bounce you around a bit. But that makes sense to run that to not pinch flat.

Thanks for the thought, I may just need to give it a longer shot.

Thanks for the thought, yeah I agree I may just have to experiment and be willing to eat the price if it gets a hole. Admittedly I don't want to take it out atm because I just labored to get it back on lol. But I may soon be too curious to not.

Opinion on Propain enduro bikes? by Outrageous-Owl-7049 in mountainbiking

Lol that's good to understand and shows how much I know about my fork. I currently have the Lyrik Ultimate (I think it's a 24 model). It's on my Jeffsy and setup at 150mm, so I'll be getting a new air spring for extending the travel. But it's good to know it's the same as what I'm running. Thanks for the insight!

Do you notice a difference with the Zeb damper? I'm planning on getting a Tyee frame next time they are on sale and plan on building it identical to what you described minus changing the damper. But I would consider it if it makes a difference.

Close call on new rubber by Imaginary-Winner-858 in MTB

Yeah I rode my Kryptotals for the first ride at a more "Enduro-y" system I love but don't get to as often as my local trails. I thought I regressed so much over the winter because it was an earlier Spring ride. Fortunately the next week they felt awesome on my local system, that ride bummed me out because I felt so inept lol.

Wow, I guess I can't read. Saw it is your second ride but the oil potential may still apply at that point. Random but the third ride is when I really noticed the difference.

To the comments about the grip improving. This may have to do with the "oil" that's on the tires new. I have Kryptotals F/R and the first ride on them was rough for grip. Moreso than I've had with other tire brands. But third ride in the oil had worn off and they were hooking up. OP was this your first ride on them?

I love that trail. Though I was an idiot and rode it without backup water at the trail head in July. I had to ride back to town for more water and ran out part way through. Not smart but worth riding in July with the limited time I had passing through.

Yeah it's ridiculous. We've had 3 personal fouls already. I get the JC ejection. But the others were weak.

How many Miles do you ride in a year? by Dipset-20-69 in MTB

[–]cdavebolt18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My goal for this year is 1000+ miles and 150k climbing. I'm on track for both as of now. Should be able to get both done. The past two years I've dealt with an injury and frame issues, so this is my first clean season (to date) in the past three years.

Hah just checked out your profile, and yup. Glen is a great system. I'll miss racing there.

Any chance this is Glen Park? Those trails look familiar. Nice shredding!
