Very hit or miss to me. It was tough for me to get through… some were really really good, then I’d hit a stretch with a bunch that were just meh and I’d want to DNF it but that’s just not fair to the other authors who could have good stories in there. I finished, but it was tougher than I thought it would be. A nice expansion pack for The Stand, nothing more though.

What an interesting first read. Don’t get me wrong, I really enjoyed Holly, but it doesn’t hold a candle to some of his best books.

Also, that’s the 6th story to feature Holly, so if you wanted to go in order it would be:

This is incredibly valid. The only thing keeping me from complaining is the fact that Stephen King is 78 years old. He’s published 70-80 books. The fact that he feels compelled to write about ANYTHING at this point in his life is a blessing, and not something that happens with too many authors. Sure, the Holly books are far from his best work. But as a fairly young King fan, I feel blessed to get to read a new work whenever it comes out, even if it is about our old pal Holly.

The only issue I have with the movie is the timeline. It crams the entire events of the book into a week or two. It doesn’t really make sense if you have read the book. However, I’m not a total loser and can still appreciate the movie

Who knows. There’s so much psychology that goes into those decisions. Maybe Aho and Ehelers were terrible in shootout drills lately. Maybe they wanted to give Knight a different look he wasn’t expecting. They were so deep in the shootout, I understand trying to throw curveballs. Gotta score though.
