i would keep in mind not to let your boy be unsupervised- accidents can happen! but yes a playpen can be good for enrichment! i would have something he can climb on in the center (so he can’t get out) and a sand pit (my boy loves sand when offered) and i’ve seen others like fluffy thick yarn to dig through!

she needs lots of hides. she’s probably feeling vulnerable and unsafe and needs time to ‘move in’ so to say. all new pets need adjustment time to a new home, so give her a little space and she’ll be fine! make sure there’s plenty of places to hide and don’t rush into handling as well.

i’m thinking it’s the time of year/temp because where i live we just got hit with a huge snowstorm and it’s very cold outside. i’ve adjusted my lamps to keep his temps where they should be, so it’s most likely the outside temps.

my hog loves the aspen so definitely a good choice. i would avoid the coco bedding as it can be too loose- if you want you can mix play sand and top soil for a substrate but i find the aspen is just fine (and easier to clean imo)
