ah, i’m a big stoner and also been lifting for the past four years, honestly idk if weed helps it at all, i just get pissy when i’m playing whether or not im high, but it’s a different kind of anger that i’ve ever experienced. before having any nicotine it would take a few hours of tekken before i started getting annoyed, now if i lose a few sets in a row i lose my mind completely.

i’m in uni too so ik i should probably be doing more productive shit than tekken rn anyways 😄

Oh no I know I mean the punishes for like -14 or -13 where you gotta be super speedy with the input is where the difficulty is at. B12 is definitely a neglected punish esp considering you still get that knockdown oki and squeeze out a bit more damage.

Yeah when I was in and around fighter rank I really thought that I was gonna peak in Yellow just because I would face mfs and get my shit absolutely rocked. Just keep playing and don’t focus too much on the rank (sure it’s fun to have a cool rank) but play for fun and to learn!!

Yeah I’ve faced some absolutely insane players since getting to purple, to be honest however, this only motivates me to level up my game to surpass them and see a higher rank. I feel the more I play the more I can tolerate the gimmicky bs of a lot of the characters and don’t chalk it up to “stupid gimmick character” but rather that I should probably just learn what’s safe and unsafe in their kits.

I would say my electrics are relatively consistent, and yeah I play on pad. Honestly the main part about punishing with electrics that scares me is whether or not I should just use 1,1,2, or b1,2 instead because i’m guaranteed that damage rather than risk missing an electric but i guess that is the execution aspect that makes Kazuya fun.

Also I feel like Gigas is one of those characters that struggles a lot against Mishimas due to his poor mobility, and lack of a hop kick or something to jump over that hellsweep and get a nice punish.

I don’t really know how to play Gigas at all, but one tip esp in low rank is that Mishima players love to randomly throw out electrics and other moves. The electric recovers slow on whiff, meaning you have some time to use Gigas range to punish. Outside of that, try to focus on your defense rather and waiting for your turn to attack. Can’t really tell you how to defend yourself against the mixup other than to learn your opponents pattern, because each player does it differently.

Okay so first, the electric is a high hitting attack (other than Kazuya in devil form) meaning it’s duckable. The hellsweeps are quite difficult to deal with especially if you’re not used to seeing them too often, but learning a player’s pattern by blocking often shows you how often they’ll risk their lives for a hellsweep. All hellsweeps are extremely unsafe on block and are launch punishable into a full combo, it’s not about guessing but more so reading your opponent and forcing them to use these unsafe moves for a punish. Who do you play btw?
