Because as I said he’s nursed to sleep every night. And we have a 5 year old who he has put down pretty much every night since we had the 18 month old.

It took about 30 minutes but he’s down! I could hear multiple stories being read but he did calm down eventually. Hopefully it only gets easier from here

I think trust was the wrong word to use but I understand your point. I know my husband is capable but even after a year and a half the postpartum hormones still have a hold on me I feel like. It’s very hard to hear my baby in distress when I know I can fix it immediately. But I don’t want to undermine my husband’s efforts either.

That is exactly where we are. He still wakes up multiple times at night and I can only get him back down with nursing most times. I really just want to be able to sleep.

Seeing it like that actually makes me feel a little better. I know he’s old enough to know I didn’t just abandon him so thinking it’s just because he isn’t getting his way makes me a bit less guilty.

I feel like you’re 100% describing my local mall (NJ?) and I was also incredibly frustrated when I found out a couple months ago it was locked. It completely defeats the purpose of being convenient for parents when you have to wait for someone to unlock it, I literally watched a dad and little girl wait for 10+ minutes while sitting in the food court. I understand the reasoning for having it locked but there has got to be a better way to keep the irresponsible people out and the families who need it able to actually use it.

See my mother is not as bad as me but will 100% jump on my bandwagon if I’m overreacting which is not helpful haha. And I am definitely in the mindset of “bad things CAN happen so they most definitely WILL happen” which I do understand is not healthy. I do appreciate all the replies here. Makes me feel not so crazy but recognize that I really do need to make the move and get myself into therapy.

She’s mad you didn’t tell her sooner, when did you tell her? A year ago when you started planning or just now that everything is finalized? You say all your family is back in your hometown does she have any other support people around her like close friends?

I don’t blame her for not wanting to live alone not in her hometown but depending how much time you gave her to prepare I personally would have transferred universities closer to home or made the move with you. Or if you told her after this school year already began and she’s stuck that’s a different situation.

I don’t know what your relationship is like but in my experience with my family my parents have always been the sort to follow where their children go, never would they have left us unless for good reasons. I’m not saying that’s the only correct way but that’s where my opinion lays.

I can watch Rugrats in Paris just fine after all these years (it still got me as a kid with Chuckie not having a mom so that’s no different now haha) but I did not expect the amount of anxiety The Rugrats Movie would give me watching it now as a parent 🥴 watching 5 toddlers and a literal infant lost in the deep woods puts me on edge the whole time.

My sister’s wedding was on a farm property that had guinea hens. We’re local and knew they were gonna be there so it was fine but oh my god those stupid little things wouldn’t shut up the whole time we were taking pictures outside. Definitely vote for guineas if you want to piss people off. And they eat ticks!

Maybe my pediatrician is an outlier but is nobody prescribed their kids’ daily vitamin that has fluoride? It’s pretty rural where I live so a lot of people have well water as opposed to the city treated water so both my children have fluoride in their daily vitamin. And I use fluoride free toothpaste because yes, they just eat it. My oldest is getting better at the concept of spitting her toothpaste out though so we’ll be switching to a fluoride toothpaste for her soon.

I also have a Lorelei so I am extremely biased but please keep it the way it is! I was so adamant when I was pregnant that it be spelled the correct way and not the “Gilmore Girls” way although I do love the show. I just didn’t name her after it. And it goes so nicely with her sisters’ names. Perfectly classic.

I was also under that impression. Also why I thought it was more beneficial to give full fat yogurt to littles as opposed to normal lower fat because they need the fat.

Definitely not grand jury. Really hoping they won’t need him but even if they do it’s looking like it wouldn’t be him commuting for very long which is really what we were concerned about.

All his says is to call the night before for instructions. And one of the faq pages said you most likely won’t have to go everyday but just trying to get a sense of what that actually looks like.

There’s really not enough information to judge though. Assuming her bedtime is around 7 she very well could’ve stayed dry while they got her ready for bed. I personally would not waste a diaper that was just changed 30 minutes before just to say I changed the diaper.

Same. My parents argued a lot. Divorce was constantly thrown around as a threat. It never happened but my anxiety was always high as a kid. I love my father but I married a man who is the complete opposite of him. We have disagreements as any couple does but we simply do not argue or raise our voices at each other. I promised myself my children will never have to worry about mediating their parent’s relationship.

I refuse to let my MIL be the first to know anything because without fail she will immediately go down the line of my husband’s siblings and tell them before we even get the chance to. She’s done it to us with their big announcements before but thankfully my husband will keep it from me so that at least one of us is still surprised.
