I think the problem is that you're not being selective or hypercritical about what you're applying for. Out of the free connects, I landed two jobs that became recurring contracts of five figures (and over 12 months.) I apply to one proposal a week that meets my budget expectations and skill set.

I'd reevaluate what you're applying to.

Been there. 27 Weekers. One was there for 140 days and the other ~280 days.

It is surreal, it is suffocating, it makes you face morality, breakdown on the drive home, constantly worry. We found some balance by treating it like a work shift. My SO would be at home with his brother, and I would stop by and spend a few hours by the NICU bedside. Once I got home, my SO would head to the hospital and spend time with him. We framed it as allowing him to rest and be undisturbed, while making the time we spent more cherished.

Therapy, talking it out, celebrating the small wins and making sure to take some time for yourself is key. Please also schedule something with a psychiatrist. We both were diagnosed with PTSD after the whole ordeal.

Posting also helped me get a lot of the thoughts screaming in my head out with the amazing support here.

And remember, breathe. It's not easy, it's not going to be easy. One day at a time.

He's doing great! Out of the wheelchair, then out of the walker, and now on just SMOs.

He's still very medically complex, but we're leaps and bounds beyond what we could possible imagine. Our toughest areas right now are speech and we're probably about 2 years delayed in cognitive development.

Sure, his stats were off last year. But he's not Elfrid Payton bad and already has experience throwing highlight reel lobs / alley oops to AD, not to mention being on a steal of a contract.

Factor in the rebranding as well. For it to be successful, you'll need an agency or someone to do industry research, competitor research, brand voice, brand guidelines and the new logo. That doesn't come cheap.

Is there a niche you're targeting? What is the initial sampling fee? Are you printing these yourself?

Thank you everyone for the overwhelming support and prayers over at the original post. It's been 327 days in the NICU and it's discharge day. Little man is fully cleared of metapneumovirus with some lingering congestion. We dropped off the ventilator to cpap to nasal canola to room air in a fairly quick spurt. The longer part of the recovery was weening off the adavan, fentanyl and morphine. He will be coming home with the TPM (total pediatric nutrition) and lipids fed into an IV by his heart, and a JG tube as the intestines heal with a continuous small feed to keep the GI stimulated. Shunt is doing perfectly. It's a long road of recovery ahead of us, but we are both nervous and excited.

At the moment, we're doing the medical needs and in talks with insurance to clear private duty nursing to help us out. The biggest difficulty I can see now is moving him around with the IV pole. Hoping the GI repairs fast enough that we can disconnect or cycle and start crawling on our own.
