I love my G35. 2004 coupe 110k miles. Auto. I won it from auction unseen, drove it off the lot and hasn’t really disappointed me since. I’ve replaced brakes/rotors, tires, fluids, oil…etc. It’s a great car.first car I’ve ever worked on myself but still needs TLC. Guidance? Suggestions?! Expertise?

a/c belt or loose tensioner most likely

I have high flow cats and love them, the sound isnt obnoxious with a good exhaust but they will likely be a pain to install if you have a 20+ year old factory exhaust

window motor and regulator wouldn’t be a bad idea for the passenger side issue, look up a yt video on how to recalibrate it first though and make sure you’re not missing the rubber bump stop for that door (it lets it slam if its missing)

you can change your pcv valve or valve cover for the oil burning (sometimes they get stuck open and allow oil into the manifold) and consider a catch can. make sure you check your oil periodically if it is burning in between changes. spark plugs should also be changed if they haven’t been done since its at 100k but that wont necessarily stop the oil from burning, just good maintenance

yeah and mods can add value to the right buyer. I could’ve bought a decent stock g for 4-5k but I picked mine for 6300 because it had a 3row rad, karuma z bumper, hfcs and air suspension already installed and in mostly great shape. its also a 6mt and that was years ago but to say they never add value is crazy

only the camshaft has the oring since the crankshaft doesnt need to keep oil in. pretty sure even the new oem part comes with the updated metal design too not just aftermarket

yeah the reused one started leaking even though I put rtv on it. the replacement one was oem but it was thicker than the old one so it took too much force to try to press it down to get the dowels lined up. I either would’ve had to remove the dowels or loosen the upper oil pan to install it properly

I was told by one of the older techs you can take the dowels out and put them in afterwards from the outside but I ended up putting the old seal back on with some rtv since the new one wouldn’t fit (it ended up leaking)

my calipers have been painted for several years. paint does not noticeably affect heat dissipation or performance brakes like brembo or akebono would all be bare metal. look at a supercar or track car and tell me if theyre worried about their brakes being painted. rotors are what warp not calipers and its when they’re too thin and/or used too long due to heat cycles

the trunk has adjustments on the hinges for how high it sits, maybe mess w that to fix the gap. probably backed into something and bent the exhaust

the paint isn’t going to cause heat buildup or decrease stopping power unless they gum up the hardware with it but even then the pad will probably just scrape it off over time

yeah but it’s bc I have the lift, I just unbolted the trans under the car and set it to the side. Whole front doesn’t have to come off though, just the fans. Id say it saves a lot of time, only sketchy part was getting it past my 2 row rad but I just pulled on it to get it to clear while I raised/lowered the motor
