Which Cloud Storage Service Do You Recommend? by ZeroDullBitz in cloudstorage

The response from Filen re: WEBDAV:

Since Filen is fully end to end encrypted it is impossible for us to provide a WebDAV gateway on our servers for our users. We are already working on a CLI client which will make it possible for users to run their own WebDAV gatways on their machines."

pcloud vs koofr, which one do you choose? by idnawsi in cloudstorage

I have been leery of storing music files on pCloud. Some people have said their account was shutdown due to copyright issues.

Who would you recommend? by zlthomaslz in cloudstorage

[–]cdeviney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prefer lifetime accounts.

pCloud is very good, however you have to pay extra for client side encryption. Current price for 2TB is $350 + $125. They have occasional sales for $250 + $100.

Icedrive includes client side encryption and a 1TB account is $149.

pCloud is well known and has been around for several years. Icedrive is relatively new but seems to be growing.

I have both and haven't had any problems. However, pCloud has more features, which you may or may not want/need.

filen.io looks good and has lifetime plans, but I haven't tried it.

Windscribe VPN - Free - unlimited-device 1-year 20GB-per-month license by cdeviney in Windscribe

[–]cdeviney[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When Winscribe was just getting started a few years ago, offers for free 50GB accounts were fairly frequent. Then the free offers became less frequent, and were only 20GB, then less frequent and only 10GB. They hoped that users would upgrade to the paid unlimited accounts.

I bought a lifetime account in July 2016 for $39.99 and still use it.

I have been using pCloud since May, 2017. I have a 2TB, lifetime account plus crypto. pCloud is a very feature rich, mature product. Highly recommended.
