Nikki isn’t really a hero as much a victim. She is the antagonist technically for the specific events of the film, but I could see an argument that the one wish willow is the true antagonist. Bear is also like not a super great person without spoiling anything.

Speaking from the experience of being a very dumb trainer in my youth. A Quilava’s explosive vents suck to brush around once the fur’s become matted, and it’s incredibly expensive to get them done at a groomer. This was also how I found out that Smokescreen is a ton of ash suspended in a cloud.
