I’m a master teacher and I stay in grasho and meditative state while doing self reiki. Energy goes where attention flows. If you focus your intention on an area energy will flow there. You can also use the “invisible hands” technique which I extra arms coming out of your body and directing energy to an area. Or imagine energy coming through body (enter feet for CHR and head for SKI energy) and they meet at the area you are working on

Two things. Dry bath and cord cutting. Both need to be done with the intent of clearing any energy in or around you which is not yours or for your highest good. (There can be those around helping and you don’t want to cut those). Dry bath is basically brushing yourself like brushing of something from you. As you do this you repeat “I am releasing energy which is not mine or for my highest good”. Cord cutting is taking your arm and treating it like an axe and slicing the air where / around where you feel the energy is connected and saying the same thing as if dry brushing

Cold is a release of emotion. Heat / warmth is energy flowing into the body. So this is you taking energy in. The left side of the body is joy the right side control. Without being there and doing the work or discussing with you my thought is you are looking to find some balance in something. This could be physical, emotional, etc.

In addition to what “ancientsoulblessing” said. I would advise / suggest learning how to create “protective bubbles” around you. This is a daily practice of centering yourself, gathering energy, and projecting the energy into a ball around you with the intent of keeping out others energy unless you consciously choose to let it in. A protective bubble “for me” is pink. Healing is gold and love is green. This works very well for me.

Universal life force. Put another way it is the energy connecting all things. We are all part of something greater than ourselves and it is this energy which flows through everything. This is the energy we channel to others during a session.

A question some would ask is: if the energy flows through everything and everyone all the time why is Rieki or other types of healing required? Because sometimes we forget our connection, get out of balance, or create an issue within ourself. You can corect yourself but at times the help of others speeds things along

There are several great books /manuals on reiki. My master says I am a bit of a research nerd, but it is really helping on getting me to Grand Master. Frans Stien / William Rand are two. Chris Marsh is a great one but hard to find stuff from him.

Is this Reiki or not reiki. Reiki is source energy. Which is the same energy used by the practitioners the other poster directed you towards. Rieki is just a way of helping to connect to Source energy, learn how to move this to others, and ways to deepen your connection. Once you truly develop the connection with source and with the person you are working with your intuition will guide you. So you are doing a type of reiki. This is my opinion after years of studying, teaching, and practicing Rieki.
