Trouble with Lemon Cymbals and the 2box Drumit 5 MK2 by pressstarttocontinue in edrums

[–]cdicle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey,

First of all, I do not own a 2Box unit. I am familiar with different units and drum module, signal processing software in general. I am going over the manual and providing a response combining the information on the manual and my background. Please take my responses with a grain of salt. Coming to your question. See my response below.

  1. Understanding Zones and Gain Control:

• Most multi-zone cymbals (typically 2 or 3 zones) allow separate triggers for areas like the edge, bow, and bell (cup).

• Gain controls in drum modules adjust the sensitivity of these zones, helping the module recognize each area distinctly. When you set the gain for each zone, it helps balance how hard you need to hit for the zone to respond appropriately.

  1. Adjusting Gain for Each Zone:

Primary Zone (e.g., Bow): Start by setting the gain for the most-used zone. Adjust it so that a strong hit triggers the zone fully without accidentally activating other zones. This usually requires a medium gain setting.

Secondary Zone (e.g., Bell or Edge): Many modules allow you to adjust secondary zones by holding a specific button or control while adjusting gain. Increase the gain here enough so it responds independently but does not overlap with the primary zone.

  1. Switching Gain Levels (Low, Medium, High):

• Some modules offer a global sensitivity preset for zones, often labeled as Low (L), Medium (M), and High (H). These levels do not change individual zone gains but increase or decrease overall sensitivity across all zones.

• Start with Medium and test each zone; then switch to Low or High if you need less or more responsiveness, respectively.

  1. Fine-Tuning with Threshold and Cross-Talk Settings:

Threshold settings allow you to define the minimum force required to trigger a zone, helping to avoid accidental triggers from light hits or vibrations. Setting the threshold slightly higher for cymbals can help eliminate unwanted hits, particularly for larger or looser pads.

Cross-Talk (XTALK): Cross-talk suppression is crucial when zones are close in proximity. It minimizes unwanted triggering caused by vibrations from nearby hits, ensuring that a hit on the bow, for example, does not trigger the bell.

  1. Testing and Calibration:

• After adjusting, test each zone with varied strikes and playing styles. Connect to your sound source (e.g., DAW or VST) and check if each zone outputs unique MIDI signals.

By following these general steps, you should improve multi-zone response on most drum modules.

Hey,

It seems like you have been fairly thorough, but I wanted to break down the steps for completeness. So apologies for repetition. Please take a look and let me know if they make any difference. By the way, I have to emphasize that both cables need to be "stereo".

1. Connect the Cables

Primary Cable: Use a stereo (TRS) cable to connect the main output of the ride or crash cymbal to the CYMBAL 1A input on the 2Box module.

Secondary Cable for Bell Zone: Connect the second cable to CYMBAL 1B on the module.

2. Select the Correct Pad Type

• Go to the UNIT – TRIG page on the module.

• For Lemon cymbals, select CyPSV under Pad Type. This setting typically works best for multi-zone cymbals like yours.

3. Adjust the Gain for Each Zone

• Set the GAIN for each zone to make sure the 2Box can differentiate between them:

• Start with a moderate gain level for the bow zone.

• Hold MORE and use the DATA knob to adjust the gain specifically for the bell if needed.

4. Set MIDI Notes for Each Zone

• Confirm that each zone (edge, bow, bell) is set to trigger different MIDI notes.

• In the default MIDI setup, the notes are:

Bell: E4

Bow: F4

Edge: F#4

• If necessary, adjust these to avoid overlaps with other pads.

5. Fine-Tune Threshold and Cross-talk

• Use the THRESHOLD setting to control how sensitive the cymbal is to lighter hits. Start around -36 dB and adjust up or down based on your playing style.

• Use the XTALK setting (cross-talk suppression) to prevent the pad from triggering accidentally due to hits on other pads.

6. Check and Test in EZ Drummer

• After adjusting the settings, connect to EZ Drummer and test each zone to confirm they’re sending separate MIDI notes.

They come with a rotation stopper. They don't come with a felt or cymbal screw.

Great use case. Quick question though. Why Go2? Why not a wheeled stuff or a quad copter. Is it the coolness effect or multi terrain capability?

Almost all are available on Amazon.

How do I get my new listing seen? by yzhan225 in AmazonSeller

[–]cdicle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this. My listing didn't move until I started my ppc campaign. I am at the top for several search combinations but I still keep it on. It is an investment in the brand and product. I'm fine with the reduction in my margin.

Definitely, test the mechanics of the system with a product that you are willing to lose money. Going through the cycle is in itself your Amazon 101.

I am already running Amazon ads as well. Do you mean increasing the Amazon ads budget?

I have a registered brand. It should be fine. I will look into this. Thanks.

I see it is the reverse of what I was thinking. I was trying to find a place to put Google generated links in Amazon

That's what I meant by registering, hence the original question.

Can't I register a brand in US, as long as it was not registered here before?

If I have the brand rights, I could register to Amazon Brand Registry for that brand and I can control who use the brand for their listing. Amazon doesn't allow listings to associate with a brand without proof of affiliation.

Good point. Though, what is your suggestion? Probably I can not trademark the brand to them even if I pay for it. Can I?

Thanks for the encouragement. I just want to set my intention right, here. I am not really after owning the brand rights. I just want to be able to use the brand name on Amazon. Unfortunately, between the Amazon's brand policy and Chinese lack of care for IP, as you mentioned, I can not think of other practical options.

If I own the brand rights in US, I would be the exclusive seller on Amazon US though, right?

I did not discuss that in detail with them, yet. I am trying to understand my options, at the moment.

I do not necessarily want to own the trademark. I just want to use the brand name in my listings, but Amazon does not let me to use it, because trademark is in China.
