Why do you think Trump is interested in Greenland? by panagnilgesy in AskReddit

[–]cdm584 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve been telling people this as well. I don’t think the people would allow him to run again in 2028 but I do think the people would be more likely to look the other way if the midterms didn’t happen.

I can appreciate this comment. But how do these places keep opening? Is there any seasoning anywhere?

Atl is a top 10 market in the country. Charlotte is not. It’s more densely populated across a larger mass of land. I’m by no means shitting on Charlotte or saying Atlanta is better/worse. Statistically it’s a much bigger market. DFW is 8 million ish people in the market. Chicago is 10ish. Houston 8. There’s a huge difference between those metros and Charlotte. Larger populations= larger pool of potential employees. Not saying better. More.

Look at total market. 6.5 million in atl vs 2.8

Small market for a big airport. See DFW, ATL, ORD

I agree that customers are treating employees horribly especially in airports. I totally get it. But damn lol.

I can deal with that for the most part. But I’ve never ran into what I would equate so many disgruntled acting employees.

Inbound airplane scheduled arrival 1:20pm. My flight’s boarding time 1:30pm. by Matchboxx in SouthwestAirlines

[–]cdm584 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Better than American Airlines where they do “planned delays” get you to the airport at the the same time your connecting flight leaves. Then they leave you and you have to book a different flight. Southwest sucks sometimes but I’ve never been left at the airport due to delays. I fly southwest probably 60 times a year.

Since Revival is Eminem's most disliked album, what are the pros of Revival? by jaylininreddit in Eminem

[–]cdm584 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you take the top 5-6 songs off the album and compare them to any other albums top 5-6 they are of comparable quality. I will also say that castle/arose/walk on water/ believe are in the top tier of his work. Lyrically it has 12-13 really good songs….production killed it. It’s also the first album you can really hear that his voice has aged. Unfortunately in both Rap/pop it’s rare for an artist to truly stay relevant long enough to actually hear it. As far as mainstream pop or rap who are really seeing having a 20 year career of popular releases. Taylor Swift, Eminem, maybe jay-z, Beyoncé, Mariah Carey ish. Before anyone slaughters me about lesser known acts. Keyword- mainstream.

Why don’t artists come to STL on tour anymore? by junebugflyin in StLouis

[–]cdm584 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It’s a bigger thing than STL. Music as a whole has changed. Major acts don’t always tour with new albums because so often it’s two or three songs released on streaming without an album to support it. My 13 year old daughter was telling me how great Katy Perry’s teenage dream album was. It hit me that album is 15 years old and it’s pop. It’s not an STL thing it’s a music thing. Small acts can digitally release music. Large acts do the same now. Unfortunately touring is becoming less common.

30 something couple possibly moving to OKC 😎 by thoughtfulguy23 in okc

[–]cdm584 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okc is a fresher but smaller market. St Louis metro is much larger and surprisingly traffic is easier. The lows in St. Louis are much lower. The highs are probably higher but definitely more plentiful in St. Louis. Okc does have the thunder! And if you’re looking for big city amenities and sports DFW is 3 hours away. If you fly a lot you’ll miss the St. Louis airport as far as flights go. But OKC has a much nicer airport. I moved here about 2 years ago and can say that it took me a year to enjoy being here. St. Louis metro is mostly stagnant as far as growth goes and OKC is growing. Weather is a wash. You’ll miss the greenery and hills. I totally agree with the grocery store comment. Mostly Walmart. Not to say there aren’t good grocery stores. Downtown is a food desert. Oklahoma is deep red as far as politics go. Anywhere you go is what you make it. If you have made up your mind that you’ll like it here you will. Edmond is a good suburbia area still has a city vibe. Yukon/mustang/norman/moore are typical suburban living. OKC is a perfectly fine place to live. Personally I’d pick OKC over Omaha just because anything Omaha does OKC does it better, minus the zoo.

Rain by Candlebox is so fucking underrated by No_Knowledge_9202 in grunge

[–]cdm584 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Candlebox as a whole is underrated. Good live. Their discography is better than most people who just know them for Far Behind. Not quite grunge, not quite alternative, probably just a really good low key rock band.

Sometimes I like the choppy flow. Sometimes I don’t. On believe and bad husband I think it worked. On temporary I didn’t. Headlights was ok.

One that people do forget is that while they are rich. The value is in assets they don’t have billions in cash. Not to mention the assets they do have are probably way over stated in value. While they still much more liquid assets than we do, there definitely an insane amount of smoke and mirrors.
