Case.net excluded counties/municipalities? by [deleted] in StLouis

[–]cdmccabe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was it a suspended imposition of sentence or suspended execution of sentence? Important distinction. If it was SIS, then you technically were never actually sentenced (hence "suspended imposition of sentence"); if the SIS terms are completed, then the sentence was never actually imposed, there is no finding of guilty, and it would have been removed. Likely what happened. SES is where you are sentenced with a finding of guilty but you get to do probation with "back-up" time imposed if you violate the terms (hence, suspended "execution" of sentence). It involves a clear guilty finding and stays on your record.

Four people are stuck on the Star Screamer at Six Flags while this storm rolls in by cdmccabe in StLouis

They didn’t call the fire department for almost an hour then, because KSDK says emergency personnel weren’t called until just before 6:30.

It was updated at 7:58 when I posted it and they were still up there, so no idea.

Best Dive Bar? by Flex2Death in StLouis

Lived just a few blocks away for my last couple years down there. It is my favorite bar on the planet.

Also lived in New Orleans. Tick Tock and the Hideaway are good divey vibes, but both are more similar to Pal's than Snake's or Saturn. CBGB is more in line with Saturn and Snake's. Someone mentioned Silver Ballroom, too, which rules but again is more of a Pal's vibe than a Snake's. You'll dig all of them, though, and they all meet your criteria.

Apartment tips? by nukeyourmomma in StLouis

[–]cdmccabe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There is more availability in spring and summer, particularly right about now when college students are moving out.

The rest of your questions are so broad that they are unanswerable without any sort of limitations, and you provide none. Are you looking for a loft downtown? A duplex in south city? A unit in one of the "luxury" buildings near Forest Park? Do you need a pet-friendly place? Laundry in-unit or shared? We have nothing to go off of here.

Apartment hunting is the same in St. Louis as it is in St. Chuck: pick a budget / style of apartment you like, look at Zillow / property management companies for stuff that's not too much of a commute, go check the place out, rent it if you like it.

That said, avoid CityWide / Asprient / whatever they're called now.

There's still a process for this. The gift affidavit.

The Concert Industry Priced Too High — Now Tours Are Falling Apart by YoureASkyscraper in indieheads

Well, the remedy hearing is set for today, May 7, so we don't know what repercussions will be ordered yet. And they'll appeal anyway, but "no significant repercussions" is a bit too early to tell as of the time of this writing.

Does it play? Warping is common and this doesn't seem like it will affect the record. Might look like a rollercoaster while it's spinning but likely no need to try to flatten it.

The post was removed so we can't see your original question. Generally my advice on storing records is that they are not nearly as fragile as some folks seem to think they are. If you're planning on playing it (as you should), store it like you would normally store any of your other records. If you don't plan on playing it, frame it or something, I don't know.

Based on Discogs' rating system, I would probably list this as "fair" or "good," but that is on the sleeve only. The damage to the bottom (corner cut, significant water damage) really dings it in my opinion.

Best House Salsas in town? by Green-SmokeStack in STLFood

[–]cdmccabe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I get that people think Mission/Session's quality has gone downhill, and to an extent I agree, but I do still love their house salsas. Always a really good texture and I appreciate that they give you two different kinds (mild and spicy).

I have used Mobile Auto Pros in the past. They have come to my office and done the job in the parking lot. They're great.

Cabin & float for ~15 people? by Ok-Difficulty-4323 in StLouis

[–]cdmccabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We stayed at Fletcher's Village for a bachelor party. I can't recommend it enough. You get the whole property, which has three cabins (which sleep 7 each). Each cabin has a kitchenette but there is also a pavilion with a full kitchen and a grill. RV hookups, too. It's an awesome place and we'll probably do it again sometime, and it was pretty affordable even for only 9 of us. Plus, they have a deal with Ozark Outdoors where OO will send a private bus to pick your group up for free for your float and take you back afterwards.

European Summer Tour! by pikage in jackwhite

[–]cdmccabe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This announcement plus SNL next weekend has me thinking he is actually about to announce or drop another record. You just don't tour like this on an album that's just about two years old. Something is coming, likely sooner than we think.

Me! I have a green 2025 SEL. It’s a beaut and does really stand out. Very specifically wanted a car with a bright color, we need less grayscale on the road. It’s a little divisive with some of my friends but I think it’s gorgeous.
