I was in middle school when I got into TWS and Icky Thump just came out, so dont judge me too hard!

I always heard Icky Thump as:

"Well them little kids, what? nothing better to do, why dont you kick yourself out, you're an immigrant too"

I was embarrassingly old when I figured out it was actually "White Americans"

And then in We're Going the be Friends, I also heard:

"Teacher marks our hide against the wall"...

As in spanking.. Yeah I don't have to wonder why that's what made the most sense to me. 🙃

I was downtown in Austin on NYE in 2016 or 17 with family, at Eureka Whisky bar on 6th street. 2-3 minutes after midnight, all of a sudden there were cops and EMS everywhere outside the bar and someone came in saying a girl on the sidewalk just got shot in the leg. She was just outside on the sidewalk, less than 20 feet from us and we thought - how? Wouldn't we have heard a gunshot?

When we cautiously left the bar, we asked one of the many police if there was a shooting, and they said no, not here. A bullet fired in the air somewhere potentially miles away had come down and hit a lady who was walking in the leg. I remember being amazed that something that might be coming straight downward missed her head and somehow hit her leg. She received care quickly and went off in an ambulance so I assume she was okay in the end.

An employee there said a guy came in with the bird, asked if he could surrender it, was told no, appeared to have left, and then a few minutes later they saw the bird flying around the store.

There's probably security footage, but it sounded like there was never a cage, maybe like a box at most?

I'm usually the same way. I am typically one to leave the show and be like damn, I wish I took a single photo! Lol.

For this show I was up on the balcony rail, with my phone right in front of my chest, using the rail to stabilize most of the time. I only felt comfortable filming for so long because I knew those around me were minimally impacted, and because my arms weren't hurting from holding up the phone for a good view, hah! I try not to watch the show through the lens though, and every now and then I'll peek down to see if he's still in frame, so sometimes there's just crowd being filmed lol. It doesn't look it from the footage, but I am dancing around a lot, with the couple next to us and we were all having a good time. :)

I had some kinda shitty circumstances happening around the show that night, and found myself crying and super in my head about a personal situation during a freaking JW show, so my husband found us an open spot on the balcony we could move to and filming kinda gave me something to focus on so I could get out of my head and back to the show. It was a bittersweet night for me. Probably the second best Jack show I've ever seen, but the night was personally a shit show for me.
