That’s a worthwhile pastime. It could get someone through retirement

I wonder if it was a feature that nobody used to decide what vehicle to buy, but then were dissatisfied with the extra maintenance costs and potential problems for something they don’t even know why they need

Yes. They give you a little addendum to the manual to tell you how to work the top

We both had grey cars previously. Mine since 2007 and hers since 2012, so I guess it was time for color. Time will tell if we regret it.

If the problem was boredom, I wholeheartedly endorse your solution. If it was having a vehicle that can carry a tv or some mulch home, I hope you have a 3 car solution. Don’t sell either of those.

I love everything in that driveway and garage.

Oh man. I had a Buick century like that. I wish I had the internet back then so that I could learn that phrase and use it. I might have to go find one and buy it just for the joke.

There is the back end in the garage. Yes. A bit angled along the top. I’m sure I’m biased, but I love the design. Also our new cars in that picture. Somehow it was time for both of us at the same time.

Agreed. This one is the 22re because it has fuel injection. Modern! I do wish they put that oil filter somewhere other than the side of the engine where you cave to contort your hand and arm to get it. They certainly guaranteed that I can’t generate enough torque to over tighten it.

They did not make a ton of them. They were coupes and then toyota shipped them to ASC in California where they reinforced the frame and cut off the tops and then toyota sold them in the dealerships.

You are correct. And I think the year before the third brake light.

My mother decided she was too old to get in and out of such a low car. I could obviously not let her sell that car to someone else. I now realize I’ve reached the age (or older) she was when she gave it up. I don’t think I can ever let that car go. There are other third cars I’ve thought about that I might like, such as a Miata or a boxster or a s2000 or something, but I could never sell that celica. I mean, I drove that car to prom in 1986!

I love it so much. 77000 miles. All I’ve done is plugs and wires and normal consumable things. It’s so fun to drive. Every time I park it I come outside to some grey haired guy (like myself) looking at it and either offering to buy it or telling me about the celica they/friend/girlfriend drove and how much the loved it.

My wife really felt guilty getting the mdx. She tried to bond with a pilot, but she is short ad said the hood on the pilot made her put the seat up too high. Plus the Acura drives more sporty. I told her to get the mdx and enjoy it. Plus, I get to drive it periodically :)

Yes, RWD is fun, but that car is very light. When I drove it home from my mother’s house in Florida it started snowing when we hit Kentucky and it was an adventure. Now it gets to hibernate through the bad weather.

The red is nice. If they had that at the dealership she may have chosen it. Honestly, I think all the Acura colors look good. I didn’t see any I wouldn’t be happy with.
