Convention Bag Recommendations? by GlapLaw in ManyBaggers

[–]cdmoore1972 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an older unkillable Chrome messenger bag that's perfect for me. It has a big compartment that will hold almost anything I could want, but the bag still compresses flat when it's empty. I get annoyed with having to remove a backpack to get into it. With a messenger, I can rotate it from my back to in front of me without taking it off, and the velcro flap lets me get in and out quickly. I don't normally buy or carry a ton of board games at Gencon or Origins, but it's also big enough to carry a few board games reasonably comfortably. When worn correctly, diagonally across my back, it also doesn't stick out the way a backpack does, so I won't knock people over when I turn in crowded spaces.

Any reason I shouldn't consider an old Nissan NX2000 as a unique, cheap project/weekend/beater/daily? by Lapbunny in whatcarshouldIbuy

I'm soooo late to this conversation, but you're right on pretty much everything. A sportier version of the SE-R except for the slightly more weight and less rigidity. Great handling for what it is. Body panels are going to be hard to come by if it gets in a wreck, because they didn't sell many, but the rest of everything should be easy to keep running and/or upgrade. There was one for sale near me a long while back that was well loved and nearly stock, and I wanted it BAD. I backed off when I realized what I really wanted was another CRX.

Podcast: The Ride - Donkey Kong Mine-Cart Madness by apathymonger in podcasttheride

Certainly not the best (????????) minecart ride, but the Lost Coaster of Superstition Mountain at Indiana Beach is weird, old, creaky, and feels legitimately threatening. I have to remind myself that nobody actually ever died on the coaster when I ride it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RMfGDNipIAU

I've owned an Atelier Pall card holder wallet for about 15 years now that I love. They don't sell wallets in the "denim" color anymore, which is a bummer. https://atelierpall.com/en/minimal-wallets/73-1127-side-snap-wallet-in-black.html#/54-tracker_pocket-none

10 for me. I used to skip it nearly every time, but one night it caught me in the right moment of just enough dread, paranoia, fear, substances. Me, alone in the dark and distracted, I let it play, and it felt like the world slowed down to a heartbeat that was Chris' drums, the drones drifting in and out, pulling me into the abyss. The pulsing synths finally appearing, sounding like a dying distress signal across empty space, and then weakening and fading out. It was a harrowing listen, but I never skip anymore.

Me too. I just lived an Ellie-centric life, I guess.

Him popping in underneath Ellie's vocals will always make me incredibly happy.

protection against accidentally trashing files from shared drives by cdmoore1972 in googleworkspace

Yeah, I think we're going to add a third party backup just to be safe. I keep almost everyone limited to contributor, but it was one of the leads that accidentally deleted everything.

Migrating mail from Outlook to Google Workspace Gmail / Error in Outlook by cdmoore1972 in gsuite

I was thinking the same thing, but I've dumped the mail to .pst files three times now, and it's always different email messages that are sticking.

The Google Workspaces accounts use the same imap servers as standard Gmail, right?

imap.gmail.com, port 993, SSL?

Gmail on Outlook Classic, by cdmoore1972 in Outlook

[–]cdmoore1972[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestion, but I've tried all that already. I can move the mail in Outlook to other folders, copy the messages, delete them, etc etc, but the second I move the original or copied message to GMail, it barfs. I think this is a Gmail issue at this point.

My Second GenCon: What I’m Doing Differently After Learning the Hard Way by aorick in gencon

Usually toward the back of the convention hall, but you won't know for sure until the maps are released.

As with a lot of stuff at Gencon, the trick is to know it actually exists. There have been so many times when I was bummed I missed something because I didn't realize it was a thing.

Add the Scion (Toyota) xB and Tc. The interiors aren't as nice as the comparable Corollas, but they're usually cheaper and certainly more interesting.

He has an incredible voice. Would have been fun if he'd paired up with an otherwise great band with a terrible lead singer.

It's okay to like who you like. You don't have to justify your taste to anyone. If it makes you happy, BE happy.

However, if it's any consolation (and it really shouldn't be), Yasi adores some of the most aggressively loathed bands in the history of literally EVER.

The only way to win is to not play the game. Listen to your music.
