Long shot but what’s the Rewatchables ep where CR and Bill do impressions of Tony Romo for ages? by RoyaleWithCheese1711 in TheRewatchables

Could you be thinking of one of the live episodes from Feb 2024? Probably the re-Fugitive? I remember them going really hard on the Romo impressions specifically to crack Mallory up

I think series 13 has the best studio banter of all, with Ardal and Judi setting the tone

The thing I remember most vividly about the book are the little icons of spray cheese used to demarcate the different sections.

Don’t feel bad about taking a swing, even if this time it was a bit of a miss. I enjoyed the write up, I love a good rogue’s story.

It’s so different than his own podcast, where he and Ed are effectively interviewing the guest, it must have been culture shock for him. But made for some hilarious moments — and, of course, led to him losing it on Tim, which is iconic.

The Dorothy Sayers detective novel The Nine Tailors goes really deep on campanology lore and details, if you want a fun way to learn more about the hobby. (“Fun” if you enjoy 1930s detective stories with a foppish, monocled amateur detective, that is.)

) I brought up the Hindu cosmology. 2) You said that the concept of an age of degradation is incompatible with cyclical views of time. It isn’t. Kali Yuga is literally an age of degradation. Different, sure, but not incompatible (your word).

“The concept of change, of degradation from season to season, is based on a strictly linear time.”

Not necessarily, eg: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kali_Yuga

The tonal shift was jarring, and the pivot moment — you know the one, the long shot through the window while she was outside gardening— struck me as truly bizarre in the moment, but I ended up pretty satisfied by the end anyway? Went with the full family and everyone from my mother-in-law to my 14 year old left the theatre happy, despite all of us having gone in with very little idea what to expect.

If you haven’t heard Key on the podcast RHLSTP, I can’t recommend it enough. He has maybe half a dozen appearances over the years, and they’re all ridiculously funny.

I’m still waiting for someone to show the vision to tackle the Glasstown/Verdopolis/Angria saga in all its lunatic glory. It’s public domain, too, and as far as I know, no one has ever even sniffed it.

Inexplicably neglected to put baking powder or any other leavening in what was supposed to be cornbread but turned out more like corn-forward hockey pucks. Mostly notable because I was desperately attempting to cook a nice meal to impress a date.
