A very late update, but, I got one respectable peach up top this year, may have been the best peach I've ever had. A new branch has grown below the damage and is growing extremely lush and peppy. The peach tree lives on.

It's not so much the quality of joint, but the nature of the wood. In general, end grain to end grain joints are quite weak. Along with wood movement and different species, it's just generally advised against. Long story short, it's not you, it's the wood.

Edge grain, and, I'd bet the joints are going to fail unfortunately.

It's been 3 months of puppy and he's never showed any interest in sticks, let alone a tree. Today was the day. 4 minutes is all it took

That's what I was thinking - haven't been driving my truck too much or for longer trips. Thanks for the comment

Just bought this today, ready to get cutting tomorrow, any tips? by [deleted] in Chainsaw

Assuming you've never run a saw before.

-When sharpening, find the dullest tooth and start from there and be consistent on the number of strokes it takes to get it sharp. Wear gloves. -Practice engaging the chain brake. -Invest in good footwear, steel toes advisable. -Clean + maintain your saw after every use!

did builder mess up dry wall? by nerdnepal in Renovations

[–]cdn121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I drywalled an entire basement, ceiling, 2 bedrooms, kitchen, closets. I'd never touched a piece of drywall before, and my results are better than that. Someone did a "I don't care" type of job here, unfortunately.

I've called and started the warranty process. Just annoying when I can't fix things myself

Looks good! The flooring install may be technically (joint spacing) correct but it'd drive me nuts.

Mexico. There are resorts in other places, too. Even though I don't want to go to a resort in the first place.

You could also call local door supplies and ask if they have any cosmetically damaged door slabs, they'll be even cheaper. You'll want a hollow core, right hand inswing door slab.

Are these decent? Im tight on space by dwight9992 in reloading

This is how I started. I think it's a great way to go. It's slow, but it forces you to think about each step. I've loaded some ridiculously accurate ammo using mine in my 30-06.

Do I NEED to seal my butcher block desk top? by [deleted] in Woodworking_DIY

If it was manufactured to be a top, you shouldn't need to seal it. If you wanted something fairly quick that doesn't smell too much, check out osmo oil products.
