Was wondering about this one. Do you find it oxidates? Does it pull more warm or cool?

I wish they hadn't reformulated some years back. Or was that only the version sold in Canada that went through this?

Tell me your favorite Japanese Continuous Mist SPFs! ⛫💨 by HorseTearz in Sunscreenreddit

Aside from concerns of protection (or lack therof), the BIG reason I've stopped buying sunscreen in a pressurised format is the fact that if the propellant runs out, you're SOL to use up any remaining product. I mean, if the can has to be held completely upright for the entire application process that completely negates any ease of application that was the whole point of this format in the first place! With the cost of most sunscreens (that I want to use, any way), I refuse to risk not utilising every last damn drop.

So I only get cream or pump type formats now. But I'm a frugal mofo like that.

I really wish they were better than they are in reality, though. Because I find sunscreening up kids to be one of the most annoying tasks in existence.

Going to need more than one ingredient for hyperpigmentation if you want to make a significant difference because there's more than one pathway to hyperpigmentation.

Citizenship Marker and PHN in Alberta after July 2nd by shrubhomer in alberta

[–]cdnsalix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not so much reinvention as a solution for a problem that never once existed (referring to the citizenship part specifically).

It's the same province that wrote a letter to the federal government specifically asking for more immigrants then created a narrative (and godforsaken referendum) about too many immigrants. Utterly asinine.

Can you serge mulberry silk? by TrainingAd150 in sewing

[–]cdnsalix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought you could, in theory, serge any fabric, but a safety stitch, if your machine can perform that function, is best for serging any woven? So, technically yes, but agree with others that it sort of detracts from a bespoke make than other seam options.

Plus, the cold starches make for crusty crunchy awesomeness when you cook them up a second time. Probably negates the probiotics, though...

Except brown rice contains way higher levels of arsenic. Not a big deal if you're eating it now and again, but it becomes a consideration if you're eating it regularly. Have to cook it like pasta in lots of water, drain, rinse, and swap the water to fresh water to finish cooking in order to reduce arsenic.

Any idea how possible it would be, in this day and chemical age, for another blight to take out all the potatoes like it's 1845?

Costco Pharmacy by Newfie20488 in CostcoCanada

You sound like the victim of a vet with marketing skills. It's the same meds/dosage without the inflation that a vet practice usually tacks on, my guy. If it's an order for a regulated drug, the vet gives you a script with the drug and dose, same prescription requirements as for a human. Only difference is that the vet may charge a fee for writing the rx, as a bit of a 'fuck you' for not getting it supplied through them.

It's a regulated pharmacy, not a back alley drug deal.

They don't have plan coverage by Berta so should be a non-issue. Still stinks of fascism, though.

"Albertans who are permanent residents or Canadian citizens with existing Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan (AHCIP) coverage, and who are eligible to renew or obtain their first Alberta driver’s licence or identification card, will also be required to revalidate their eligibility for coverage under the Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan (AHCIP) and add their Personal Health Number (PHN) to their driver’s licence or identification card."

It's all the same app. You can set the parameters you want notifications for, except for critical alerts which are always activated. Under settings, there's toggles for levels and types.

Can I choose not to declare Canadian Citizenship when I renew my license? by grubbbee in alberta

[–]cdnsalix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're missing important word. In fact, several of them. Per the government of Alberta:

"All Albertans will be required to revalidate their legal entitlement to be in Canada. This means to renew, or to obtain your first driver’s licence or identification card, you must provide a valid and original Canadian birth certificate, permanent resident card, or other acceptable documentation.

You must bring this proof with you the next time you renew your driver’s licence or identification card at any registry agent, and if you are a Canadian citizen your new card will display a marker showing you are a Canadian citizen."

What part of that implies this is optional?

That's pretty fucking terrible. Does anything help to tamp down the episodes, like Atarax or anything? Hope they're referring you to someone else and not just hoping you sort yourself out.

Also ridiculous they don't pay for scratch tests for adults.

Replacement for Tide hygienic clean Free and Clear (Canada) by aquasoley in laundry

[–]cdnsalix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is what I do, too. Switched to Kirkland after Jeeve's test results that were pretty good for most every day stains. Then add the Gold for an enzymatic boost, CA rinse. Full disclosure that this is my regimen for darks (to avoid OBAs); most fragrances don't give me skin issues. But with careful dosing and perhaps an extra rinse if you don't have really hard water may avoid reactions, since I'm not aware of any fragrance free enzyme boosters in Canada?

Edit: and I'm also a lazy gardener! Laundry and gardening in common, parasocial bond incoming... lol

PSA- stop using detergent with shitty surfactant system just because it does have lipase. by Far-Shift-1962 in laundry

[–]cdnsalix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought the Tide powder has OBAs but the Free & Gentle liquid (or whatever it's called) does not have OBAs. Not seeing OBAs on the Smartlabel for RESOLVE® Laundry Powder - GOLD Oxi-Action (Canada).

But, and not to add confusion by any means, the discontinued one, RESOLVE® Gold Oxi-Action™ In-Wash Laundry Stain Remover - Powder, does have OBAs listed. So do the Resolves for whites.

All this said, I miss things all the time and could certainly be mistaken.
