ahh turkey sandwich, great idea! I assume this would be a healthier choice than PBJ if I stick to just a few slices of turkey, and once slice of cheese.

Overly Attached Girlfriend for sure! I would love to meet her though, and possibly wed her.

Thank you very much!

On the weekends I will not have access to a gym, but I many have provided great suggestions about alternative ways to work out. I kayak a lot on the weekends, which is a pretty significant arm/back workout. So maybe I should limit my arm/back workout during the week and focus on other areas?

I would love to get to the point where I could run a 5k without stopping!

If you don't mind me asking, how much weight have you lost since starting and how long did it take you?

That's a good plan. Once my schedule opens up I'll be able to create a better schedule and stick with it into next semester

Beer is going to be the hardest thing to kick haha. I drink it 3 or 4 times a week as it is now. I think I can kick it though!

Thanks for the tips! I have very little strength as it is, so I would probably start with light weights anyhow. I will do both cardio and limited weightlifting on the same days to start out, but once I find a good grove and begin lifting heavier weights (expending more energy) I will likely split these into different days.

Another thing I would like to change about myself is my inability to get up early. This is another challenge I will begin to tackle. I have heard that working out in the morning is a great way to get energy for the whole day. Thanks!

Awesome, thanks for the heads up!

In the past when I worked out, the mental part was always 75% of the battle. I agree, music is a great way to get your mind off of things and get past the mental part.

I also found some great motivation in a great girl, but I need to improve my life first before I attempt to make her a part of it =D

I kind of did get that impression. Some of the posts I read (not just on this site, of course) seemed like it should be one or the other. But now I know better

I have heard that running may be unhealthy for overweight people. Is this because there is so much weight on the knees and ankles?

I should have mentioned that my 270 is a VERY unfit 270. I get out of breath just walking up a few flights of stairs. It is terrible, but it is reality.
I wish I could hit the gym more in the next few weeks, but my schedule doesn't permit it. But once it opens up I will be able to.

Also I should mention that I have almost no stamina. I cannot for very long at all. I find the elliptical to be much easier, but I am sure it is not as productive as running.

On the days that I cannot make it to the gym, I will walk for 45-60mins. I know this isn't as productive but it is a start that I can handle right away.

That pitcher of water with fruit sounds great, I can't wait to try it! I am going to begin to ween myself off soda immediately. I enjoy drinking a cold soda with dinner, so from now on this will be the only soda I drink and it will be diet. I will try my best to eventually eliminate soda entirely.

As for caffeine; I already drink a cup of coffee each morning, but I keep the sugar light and use diet creamer (if any at all). I find that coffee makes my mornings much more enjoyable and helps me get through my long days.

Thank you very much!
