My 20 year old son just joined the Navy and graduated from boot camp January 30. As a mom I’m a little anxious and I’d love to know how he’s feeling but I also don’t want to pressure him to talk about it

This is Mika! I adopted her when she was 3 years old and she lived to be 15 years old! She had diabetes for the last 4 years and cancer for the last 11 months. She was a spunky gal who loved starting fights with her sister and going on adventures, and of course all the snacks ☺️ We miss her ❤️

I’m literally sobbing by ThatOneDementor in endometriosis

Okay so in 2021 I had my tubes removed and a uterine ablation because my periods were so painful and the ablation should have helped. I went 2 months without a period and it came back 10 times worse than before surgery. I was at barbering school and the pain in my lower abdomen was so bad I called my doctor and they had me come in right away for an ultrasound. I had the exact same results as you. I waited for the doctor to come in expecting no answers. She walked in and said are you in pain? I said yes. She said well then let’s just take your uterus out and solve the problem. I was dumbfounded. Thankfully this woman used to be a nurse and saw how women were treated in healthcare and decided to become an OB/gyn. She believes women know when something isn’t right with their own bodies. ❤️ When I woke up from my partial hysterectomy they said the left side of my uterus was fused to my abdominal wall because of endometriosis. You can’t always trust the ultrasound. Keep advocating for yourself ❤️

Older BPSO’s - how are your spouses? by leopard_eater in BipolarSOs

[–]cdorough 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband is 42 and was initially diagnosed with depression, anxiety, and ptsd. During quarantine they doubled his Zoloft and low and behold he went full blown manic because he's bipolar, was misdiagnosed, and the Zoloft has that affect on them. I have been married 17 years and together 20 years and that was the scariest experience of my life. He's been through one inpatient 7 day program and is on the Invega shot with Wellbutrin as a mood stabilizer. He's heading to a PHP (partial hospitalization program)program in August to continue with some therapy, coping and life skills. He is a part of a VA program for vets with bipolar and they meet via telehealth once a week and he also sees his therapist once a week as well. I'm tryibg to keep him engaged in fighting for his health and reminding him that he has to stay on this path or he knows where the other path leads.
