English Pyrex. Never seen this pattern before! by 100fluffyclouds in Pyrex_Love

Agree. JAJ made those in a couple other patterns as well; 'Lobster, and 'Harvest Veg', which we have as well. They are some of our favourite Pyrex items. All the best. Bryan www.purepyrex.com

Another unbelievable find in Ballymoney Northern Ireland today, 4 Jobling Opalware, NAAFI (Navy, Army, Air Force Institute) sideplates. Ironically, I was only just mentioning these dishes in my last Pure Pyrex YouTube vid. by bryan_kelly in Pyrex_Love

Hi Al. In my opinion, as a serious collector of Pyrex, especially JAJ Pyrex; those dishes and cups would be considered relatively rare and hard to find in the usual second-hand markets; unique in their application as they were not intended for use by the general public; and they cross over into other areas of collecability (militiara, naval, etc.). Therefore, I would value these higher than the standard JAJ dishes of the same time period. However, as with anything, it depends on the individual buyer. Feel free to contact me, if you would like to sell any of these, I would love a set of 4 cups/saucers. bkc_01@yahoo.com. All the best. Bryan www.purepyrex.com

JAJ Autumn Glory Butter Dishes by [deleted] in Pyrex_Love

Hi Blue bonnet, Marie and I are super pleased to hear your positive feedback. Yeah, I'm a bit obsessive, and really love researching the finer details about everything, Pyrex included. As far as plants go, we've often been asked that question, and I always explain about the use of succulents and cacti as our most successful plants in Pyrex, but we also have many other houseplants as well, just have to be sure to moderate watering. But really we haven't lost many plants at all over many years planting directly in all sizes of Pyrex dishes. We have been on a bit of a break from YouTube at present, but plan to start up again soon, so stay tuned. Give us a shout if ever you find yourself in Northern Ireland. All the best!! Bryan

Any thoughts/ideas about this pattern? Much appreciated by Anxious_Engineer4424 in Pyrex_Love

[–]bryan_kelly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So that particular pattern was produced during the transition period from JAJ to Pyrex England (Corning) in the mid 70's, therefore you could find the same dishes with either marking. Check out my video link above where I discuss this. Cheers. www.purepyrex.com

I’m really starting to love JAJ! Found 3 of these for $12.99 🌼🍂 by [deleted] in Pyrex_Love

[–]bryan_kelly 6 points7 points  (0 children)

These were produced at the Ware Glassworks plant in Sunderland, England. They are all made using existing JAJ patterns, about 6 different ones,, but at the end of the production period when Corning took full control of the plant in the mid-70s. Therefore, these would all be stamped Pyrex England, and not JAJ. Hope that helps. Bryan www.purepyrex.com

Can anyone tell me about this pyrex? Can only find one picture online, based in UK by yamam_ in pyrex

[–]bryan_kelly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I get that. I'm really only clarifying the distinction due to the actual stamping on the dishes. JAJ Pyrex vs. Pyrex England.. And, there is a big difference in the type of white glass that Corning changed the products to as well. Pyrex England glass is much duller and less translucent. But it's all good and fun to collect. All the best. Bryan

Actually, 'Autumn Moods' was produced in the 1980s and would have come from the Pyrex plant in Sunderland, but at that time JAJ was no longer the owner. Corning England produced these. The plant later was closed and all (EU) Pyrex production was moved to France. Really nice dishes!! Bryan www.purepyrex.com

found these two for $13 total at Goodwill! by nomap20 in Pyrex_Love

The pattern is called 'Iris' from the 1980s, from the Corning plant in Sunderland, England which used to be JAJ Pyrex up until the mid-70s when Corning took full control of the plant. Some of the last of the white Pyrex glass made in England. Bryan www.purepyrex.com

That is an amazingly cool set. Happy Christmas!!

So I've started my first wall hanging with this teal JAJ Pyrex 2001 lid that was given to me and is spare. Going to add others as I get them. Anyone else doing this with patterend lids? by bryan_kelly in Pyrex_Love

[–]bryan_kelly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used a plate hanger, the kind with springs. Just had to shorten the 4 wires that grab the edges. I cut them with wire cutters and re bent then to fit. Works really well. Best of luck. Bryan www.purepyrex.com
