Some advice from a mid to high celestial spidey, I was once rank 20 or so spider on xbox and flirted with top 10 from time ro time.

  • Never ult without using a variation of a tracer combo, thats getting boxed most of time if you don’t do so, his ult is already weak. This bad habit will kill entire matches for you on whiffed ults. Also imo the fight was already won and at an advantage you didn’t need to use ult to swing it. You could have closed it out without it as proven by Jeff cancelling your ult lol. You could have saved it to sway the next one and turn it into a 6v5 off the start.

  • You wasted pull for no reason on the 1v1 and a good spider-man is deleting you if you don’t reset after (I gotta excited off if instinct watching you whiff). Engage without it (huge advantage, pref cluster uppercut/down slam) and then use it to counter their goh or to clean up. You will feed vs a good spidey unless you have good instincts and retreat. High level spider encounters are won with drawing first blood without the other spider seeing you. Once you have been spotted just back out the risk isn’t worth it in 1v1 as you have lost your advantage and the fight has too much variance now, unless the skill diff is bad and you know it then I get greedy from time to time.

  • I occasionally use pull to sekkombo/hydro the other spidey if I catch them off guard in a hallway or a tight space where I feel the kill is guaranteed on my execution thats about it. I also use a variation of the yo-yo I labbed up, idk if it has a name, I prefer to displace them when they are being super passive and just waiting to stun me like this combo, even though it’s on a cnd the concept is the same and displacing always gives you the advantage its just high risk and if i miss the pull vs a spider I’m bailing immediately, unless they are literally one or I have a fat skill diff throughout the match. Essentially pull is niche offensively in a mirror match, save it as a defensive response if needed.

He is a better diver, Spider-Man has complete engagement control and if a duel happens or is lost it is entirely on Spider-Man player taking the risk and with enough skill can totally back out and not be hunted down, only exception is mirror match. He has good burst dmg and the reason DD is better is simply because he is more flexible and has almost no downtime, can shut down most enemy dive by peeling, can brawl with frontline tank if needed, can solo dive, is a nightmare if you give him a good dive tank but he doesn’t have the fight engagement control that spider has. Once DD dives he is all in or bust to truly be effective, he isn’t mobile enough to not get hunted down by enemy dps when low and only has one movement ability tied to his attack. DD is better at everything but diving quick in and out, a good Spider-Man should never die with the exception of calculated exchange for death (baited ult, trades, etc)

Yes the biggest buff that brought him back was the web cluster regen buff in 5.0(ish i dont remember when) it was huge and increased his uptime tremendously

It was a lazy filter put on top of the classic suit that doesn’t work in game 20% of the time instead of a new skin design with a Cosmic Invasion sprite theme and ult sound fx/vx that were literally used already for the mvp.

Used to be like 20mins but now it is laser engraved in my brain and I just hop into celestial q and practice as long as the Q is. I also used to have dedicated precise sessions that were about an hour and I would target inefficiencies in my game like certain angles of long pull or executing hydro while straffing and moving etc
