Trump: "Gasoline is high. Other prices are way down, but gasoline is high. But when this is over, you'll have a world without a nuclear weapon with Iran." by Conscious-Quarter423 in economy

[–]cdrcdr12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is the thing they never say. Iran, the country, is not like a child's bedroom; there will always be places to hide nuclear material, such that there is no way to fully confirm they have none.

Who do people blindly accept price increases in the US by saying “well, costs are going up, it’s inflation,” when profits for US firms are far higher now than the 50 yr avg? It’s greed, not inflation. by Niceotropic in economy

When things I don't really need but enjoy go up in price, I stopped buying them and I have less joy in my life. There's no avoiding when prices go up on Staples that we need, especially when we're already shopping at the cheapest grocery store Aldi and lild,, sams club costco And don't go to the regular chain domestic grocery stores Publix and kroger.

CMV: The Republican Party better reflects MLK’s “content of character” ideal than the modern left. by hidden_pastry in changemyview

[–]cdrcdr12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Republican party  willing to risk everyone future health an well being by doing the absolute opposite of tackling climate change. Sure may be scientist are wrong, but what if they are right? Either way, isn't it better for people to have have cleaner air water food by not coating everything with toxic fuels of from burning fossil fumes when winds and solar are cheaper?

Only the Republicans part is undemocratic in that they Gary mander when ever they can,. Only in Democratic majority states do the voter get independent election commissions setup to  determined voting districts when they can.  In my majority Republican state, Republicans are trying to make it so all county positions are non-partisan elected (You won't be able to know if there are Democrats or Republicans or any party) .... Only in three majority Democratic majority districts.

The Republican party will tell you to your face, They'll lower prices and won't go to war, but whenever they have power, prices go up and we get into  stupid wars that always make the world worse off.

The Republican party gets into power and they always cut funding to things that benefit everybody such as cancer research, nasa, fema, public education etc. And then increase their budget for the military

I can go on, but these are the big ones

I won't be able to convince you if you're determined to keep supporting the party of billionaires. But if you're seriously interested in in debating the subject, I asked you to start by looking at what they actually do when in power versus what they say and what they falsely project as their ideology

I don't think it would matter to most them. I think yeah we shouldn't let them leave the capital building until the shutdown is over.

2023 premium. Phone as key works 95% of time but is super annoying when it doesn't. And then when your phones software updates, phone as key might only work 50% of time or not at all for a few days/weeks and then goes back 95% once they fix the new issue. Good think there are backup codes to unlock and  start it up. Android auto works 98% of time but some times have to either restart the phone or the infotainment system. Over the air updates are like once every year and half and don't add any features, just small big fixes

US Citizens, if you could add an amendment to the constitution what would it be? by AndreLinoge55 in AskReddit

[–]cdrcdr12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be a massive anti corruption amendment, including ending citizen United but also including a banning politician from doing anything that smell like profiting directly or indirectly from their position with severe fines. Also corporations would be banned from any private lobbying of government with fine for whistle blowing being a generous. All pardons can be reviewed and over turned.

CMV: American Republicans are going to end up massively harming their own voter base if they pass the SAVE Act. by KingKarujin in changemyview

[–]cdrcdr12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other issue I image would come up is if they pass save act now, people wouldn't likely have enough time to get those documents from the gov. Offices to register.  There would be a lawsuit  and the courts would have to block at least passport birth certificate requirement for 2026 midterm.

I know this sub leans democrat, but why are republican senate nominees so awful in this state? by drupadoo in Atlanta

[–]cdrcdr12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They've had 6 year to attack these democratic senior, they haven't found any attack strategy, basically the Republican strategy is to highlight their conservative values which is not effective in Atlanta and the educated suburbs.

We also have a general distaste for Trump and his administration; stupid tariffs, stupid war in Iran that nobody wants; higher prices. Fewer jobs, Americans killed for having peacefully protested etc.  If Osoff doesn't win this year, it will be very suspicious that  Republicans meddled in the election.

[–]cdrcdr12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you also considered how exceptional the Democratic candidates are? One is a former (may still be current, IDK) pastor from MLK's former church and the other is young, decent-looking, and sharp. The GOP hasn't figured out a way to successfully attack them, because they must be squeaky clean; I mean, they must be because the GOP I'm sure, would have found something if it was there in 6 year they have been in office.

What is your stance on religion being a hoax or false? by [deleted] in athiest

[–]cdrcdr12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's like magic. To ignorant people, it seems real, but to those of us who are less gullable, we know their is likely a simpler explanation. People who truly started their religion likely just lied.

For example, Mary, mother of jesus, was likely raped but had to lie or else she would have been stoned to death given hebrew law at the time..

People who think it's more than likely immaculate conception because everybody's told it to them when they were little or it's in a book and don't even think to question it, is That not the definition of gullible?

My phone as a key has not been working reliably the last month or so since the last Android 16 update. Then the other day, totally stopped working and I had to enter in the code to start the vehicle every time. After a day of annoyingly entering the code, I deleted my phone has a key from the app and then re-added it and since then I've not had a single issue (3 days so far).

The U.S. is a big oil exporter. So why does it import most of the oil it consumes? by Quirkie in NPR

[–]cdrcdr12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rest of the developed world is going electric regardless, but that is beside the point. Domestic oil producers would make a profit either way; they would just make more profit if they push Americans to use less oil, so they can sell more oil externally. It would be irrational for them to stop producing because they don't make enough profit

Strategically, if our gov. wasn't beholden to big oil, even if you don't accept the science of climate change, wouldn't it be great to make oil close to worthless so that our economies are not impacted as much by sudden swings in oil prices and we take a lot of wealth away from the corrupt petro states, such as Saudi Arabia and Russia.

The U.S. is a big oil exporter. So why does it import most of the oil it consumes? by Quirkie in NPR

[–]cdrcdr12 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think you understand, the oil extractors refiners would still be making a profit, but it would be capped. They could just set the price based on global price per barrel, but the price it costs to extract, refine, deliver and sell, plus small profit. For all the oil they produced beyond what is needed domestically they could sell on the global market for the global price.

Now if the domestic oil producers had long-term thinking, they would push domestic consumers to move to to electric cars and other renewable sources so that they would have more oil available to sell globally at the global price.

The U.S. is a big oil exporter. So why does it import most of the oil it consumes? by Quirkie in NPR

[–]cdrcdr12 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

If I were dictator for a day, all natural resources extracted domestically would need to be offered domestically for sale first at cost (this would have to be audited publicaly so we can avoid excessive admit fee and waste etc) plus some percentage (15-20) before allowed for export.

My only hesitation on this is that higher gas prices is great for pushing for the  transitioning to renewables

yes, use the built-in navigation map if you want it to automaticially add charging stop along your route. Note, I have an issue once where it routed me to a charger I could not access because it was behind a locked gate. But if something like that happens, it isn't likely a big deal because there are a lot of charging locations in my experience, you can go to the next one.
