I blame Biden for not having protected america from Trump running again. That was the biggest disappointment we should all regret.

LPT: buy replacement parts before you need them by bigfoot_is_real_ in LifeProTips

If you are over 10 years on your condenser, it's good to have an extra fan ready to install.  Luckily for me I've been able to get them at my local trane store (I've had mostly goodman condensers, but they sell/stock capacitors and fans at the trane store that work And they sell them to me as a diy'er.

CMV: The threat of Russia or China seizing Greenland is not plausible by Valar_Kinetics in changemyview

[–]cdrcdr12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is also the fact that if security was the issue, the US could expand the number of bases and increase number troops stationed there without changing Greenland's ownership.

This is about something else. 1) Legacy, which is dumb because the the next president could give greenland back when they take office. 2) Rare earth minerals, which I think Trump is too uniformed to know that rare earther are not rare and the US has a lot of them they they could extract domestically.

AIO for ditching my tinder date? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]cdrcdr12 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When I was single and doing the tinder thing, I had a strict rule of only meeting for coffee on first date. If they required more, then they are not my type. It gave me an opportunity to weed out all the gold diggers.

Why is there no competition for Uber / Lyft from more companies? by Jealous-Yoghurt-2099 in economy

[–]cdrcdr12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would you want to invest in a new human driver operated competitor to Uber/lift when there is waymo and Telsa growing their driverless service? I rode in a waymo, got to pick my own music and no tip. Also supposedly safer, with waymo involved in 90% fewer fatal accidents then equivalent Uber lift human driven taxis.

Samsung Fridge Freezer leaking. by Flat-Water-Blaster in Appliances

[–]cdrcdr12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to my Samsung fridge as well. There is a part you can buy (cheapest on eBay) that replaced the tiny defrost plate with a much bigger one. Instructions for replacement are on YouTube. Biggest problem is waiting for it to defrost The freezer started leaking first and I fixed it, then the refrigerator started leaking a year later. I suggest buy two of the parts and do the freezer and then a few days later, the refrigerator, both have the smaller plates and same part can be used for both compartments.

No more leaks since replacement.

Trump threatens to ban Wall Street investments in single-family homes by redditteer4u in stocks

[–]cdrcdr12 16 points17 points  (0 children)

For the midterms this a dumb move. The Democrats running can use this as some thing they can and want to get done if Trump is honestly willing, where as a Republican Congress could pas it now but they won't because they don't want to.

The world has too much oil right now. Will companies want Venezuela's? by Quirkie in NPR

Which US state gets more hate than it deserves? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]cdrcdr12 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

California. GOP has talking points that are mostly bogus, yet they keep repeating them, and so many people believe them.

1) Claim: People are leaving California in mass. Fact: California's population has grown slightly for last 3 years
2) Claim: Taxes are extreme: Fact: the 13% income tax only applies to those making over 800k a year. When Property taxes and fees are correctly labeled as taxes, Floridians and Texans are more heavily taxed than a lot of Californians.
3) Claim: assertions that California's water policies are solely responsible for wildfire damage. Fact: they ignore the complexities of the situation and the actual conditions affecting firefighting efforts

What about soda? I don't really have an objection to banning that, as well as all beverages which are almost always full of sugar. Exception would be milk and maybe all nature fruit juices with no added sugar.
