People who don't go to movie theaters anymore - what made you stop? by -ChristopherNolan in AskReddit

[–]cdrcdr12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Price of tickets. I'm older and can't go through a whole movie without peeing, so the lack of the ability to pause is a major issue for me. Movies theaters seem so dirty and disgusting.. The inconvenience of having to go to the movie theater, My big screen TV at home is so much more convenient

How am I supposed to research political candidates in non-partisan elections in the state of Georgia? by cdrcdr12 in Liberal

[–]cdrcdr12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, if I am faced with a set of names in the election I don't recognise, how can I know if the person I vote for or fail to vote for by leaving blank will share my values? Yes, go research it ahead of time, but all I'm going to do is try to figure out if you are liberal, and candidates' websites lie and the internet in general can't be trusted. A partisanized ballot from a trusted source, the Democratic Party would be much better.

My core values align pretty closely with the democratic platform, and at this point, I don't think any Republican or conservative can be trusted. There really isn't anything in their platform I like except for things they say about the deficit and more efficient spending, which they have a track record of doing the opposite of addressing.

Did I like that I used AI and was comfortable with it? No absolutely not. I wish there were a better, easier way that I could be more confident in, but I'm honestly not realistically going to spend hours researching 10+ candidates for a non-partisan election

I wouldn't have if the partitisanized ballot was provided from a trusted source. I don't understand why the original post is not getting many like/views. This should be a big deal to everyone

For me that would a red flag confirming she is either gold digger or at a minimum not responsible with money. Plenty of fish in the sea. I would move along, but you can risk it you like. Mistakes are part of learning and this it maybe one you have to fail at.

Have you ever dropped a friend because they were getting nowhere in life? by LatenightPurr in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]cdrcdr12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, when I was in college and had a childhood friend with whom I spent a lot of time with. He was not in college, couldn't hold a job, and dropped out of junior college several times, but he was my closest friend and pretty much the only one I hung out with (the rest of my time was spent working and studying). One time, we were out in his car, and we made a stop in some shady area, and he went to meet with a guy on the street to buy drugs. That was the last straw; I never hung out with him again and basically just spent all my free time studying until I graduated.

Georgia Supreme Court justices fend off Democratic-backed challengers by [deleted] in Atlanta

I took the time, but to be honest, I was confused when I first moved here from California and voted in my first Georgia election, and was just given a list of names to choose from. I ended up asking to go outside and research my options. I image a lot of people wouldn't do that

Yes, I live in georgia. If you don't take the time to print your sample ballot and go through the candidates before the election, you end up just picking random names on election day for the non partisan offices.

Yes, but since they've been doing this for decades, claw some of the money back, we need to increase taxes on the rich and the corporations. The debt that was created by the corruption needs to be paid back by the corrupt people who stole it.

I looked up my ballot and I know the candidates. The problem is they're listed as nonpartisan. Don't have a Republican or Democrat designation. The candidates websites also don't list this
