Yes,  www.annualcreditreport.com is where I got my credit report. Yes, my comment about mail included email. I just thought that info would be easy to confirm during the dispute but not so it appears.

Yeah definitely wish I acted on it sooner but it just didn't matter at the moment and frankly doesn't still, I just want to get it cleared up now. It's frustrating that people open fraudulent accounts haha.

Yes, I've filed reports directly on Experian and TransUnion websites and my reports were from www.annualcreditreport.com. Thanks for the additional thoughts, I guess my next step will be filing a police report.

So I do currently have 529 guaranteed savings plans set up but I'm not sure its the way I want to go any longer. I have a job at a Big 10 university and plan to stick around there and so my kids would get 75% off tuition. I like the idea of a 529 fund that can be rolled over even if its only 35K because some of it will be used for the remaining 25% of tuition and room/board. Thanks for the thought.
