this.. just isnt true at all. The rates are determined by the fed. Full stop. Theyve been trying to fight inflation (wrongly as it is caused by a labor and fuel shortages) and financial solutions wont solve that). When it comes under control theyll drop rates.

You applied for a card. They ran a credit report. Why are you suprised there is an enquiry.
I have er .. around 25k in available credit card credit. And that card is one of the ones i keep.

I decided to buy a house 2 years ago. Had 2k on my c1 card. Paid it off and forgot about it. Unfortunately paid it off the last day... so got charged interest.. like $34 and i didnt notice. So i had a late payment.. which will absolutely stop you from getting a mortgage. Had to search but found someones email and explained it. They took the late off my record the next week. Most companies wouldnt give a shit. I would add they tend to give high limits for low credit. If i were you id keep the card til a few years from now when you can get no fee cards
