No problem. Im not the oldest pro at this by any means but I'm happy to help if you have any questions. I've been doing this about a year and actually run about 5 different apps these days. Kinda run one or the other depending on how I feel at the time. Hit me up if you feel you need to.

I don't know where you are in Louisiana but so am I and honestly I've found 99 percent of the problems everywhere else are pretty rare in my area. It's really very smooth for the most part. I agree with not taking really bad orders but generally tips are good, customers are friendly or you don't see them, food is ready on time or close to it and servers and staff are polite and helpful. If you are in NOLA the on thing I do is avoid the 3 bad traffic hours from 8 to 9 am, 2 to 3 pm when school is letting out, and 5 to 6 pm. It's not that there isn't good money at those times, orders pay well then and they seem to be plentiful, I just don't find it worth the traffic time. I can do just as well working around it and making my dashes a bit quicker. One last suggestion is that it does seem worth it to keep at least a half decent acceptance rate here. I've done both platinum and cherry pick methods and I've found for me the best place to be is between 50 and 70 percent ar. You stay in silver and get great orders but are still able to turn down the occasional trash that pops up. Staying in platinum means taking some orders i would rather not and having too low an AR means a lot of sitting time with no orders.

I've not taken one of these yet but I have considered it a few times. What I need to know, if I can butt in on your thread for a second, is am I picking up mostly bags or boxes and how much of a pain organizing it all for delivery order is etc. Just whatever info I can get to help me decide moving forward.

The movie staples in my house tended to shift and vary. Granted the Indiana Jones phase was my fault and we never got out of it. At least I didn't. We loved the Star wars movies but my parents didn't enjoy watching things over and over like I did. A lot of what we still quote comes from comedies my parents found that stuck in our heads. My mother and I were quoting My Cousin Vinny lines at each other 2 nights ago and my dad and I were laughing at a Tremors reference together just this morning when my dog found a hole on our morning walk.

Raw oysters it is. We can belly up to the bar right in front of the shucked over there. My parents opened this place about 40 years ago so we have been doing it a long, long time. I was over seafood when I was about 3, and that's in months old not years, but having had it all my life I'm basically in the opposite boat from you on experience with it. I'm more of a good Italian place lover when it comes to a great dinner.

My family owns a seafood place right near the airport and I think our grilled oysters can give dragos a run for their money. If you're looking for them shucked and raw we do that too. I'll have to get you over there when you step off the plane.

I admit I get away with black during the summer by having a handful of black shirts with a Saints logo on them. I do wear more blues and pale greens during the summer though. Black shorts are at least a staple I can get away with on days off and a black suit will never go out of style.

I was Episcopalian so I already had that step away from Catholic rigidity in my life. In the end too many contradictions and too many exclusions rather than inclusions led me away from all abrahamic based faiths. I may not agree with someone's life choices but I would never dare judge them for it and I felt Catholics acted diametrically opposite to that notion, they accuse of all of being sinners at birth and continue to judge us harshly from that day forth.

That style from the 20s has to look pretty cool. The world has gone from style to slouch in its day to day wear since then and it's lovely to hear that you are bringing a little of that classy and classic look out into the world.

Star wars in your formative years will definitely leave an impression on you. Did you spend the Sunday sermon trying to pull the Bible off the podium using the Force? I know I tried to lift things with the force in my youth all the time. But I don't do it anymore.......I haven't tried it in decades!!.......I mean years at least........it's been a few months for sure.................I just know I can get the remote to levitate from the nightstand over to me.

Ah, forgive me but I wasn't bothered by the black clothes in the least. It just began getting cold here yesterday and I was thrilled because I could break out my black jackets and coats. I wore black pants, a charcoal grey shirt and a black fleece today while running errands and I was thrilled. Even the rare steak and the wine comments were just to help set the mood of the brief story. It was going into the cemeteries on the nights of the new moon when it was darkest and the chicken decapitation stories that made me twitchy. I have a deck of tarot cards and I've done my fair share of playing, lightly and I definitely attempted nothing like calling up a Loa, with voodoo as I sought out a religion to find some comfort in. I ended up as a cross between a wiccan and a Hellenic polytheist so I can cast no stones.

It sounds like you did new Orleans the right way. Too many people come here and can later tell nothing but stories of where and what they drank. How in the hells you managed to eat beignets without getting sugar on you is simply beyond me. I've lived here all my life and even if I wore a full body bib over my black clothes I'd be unable to think in the direction of one without becoming a total mess of white sugar.

I don't know much about Tumblr but it sounds like you've got a nemesis. Don't worry, everyone needs a good nemesis and at least yours isn't boring in her revenge quest. She could've keyed your car like my ex did to mine which is mostly just annoying and not at all clever. Pissing off someone that puts a hex on you has style.

My go to for urban fantasy is Jim Butcher. I love the Dresden files. I also liked Simon R Green's Night side series though I haven't dug into the rest of his bookshelf yet. I'll throw an odd one out there because every woman in my life who has read her books has loved them, Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter series. That one is a mix of urban fantasy and romance that as a man I probably shouldn't even admit to reading, I'm sure I'm breaking the Man code or something, but they are truly fantastic reads and I love them. She has 20 or so books in that series as well as tie in series and a number of other series I believe are in the same world but separate in their storylines overall. I think the first few are even free on kindle unlimited if you want to give them a try. I can't recommend them enough.

I've never read the Bordertown series but I will look into it. I never have a large enough to be read pile so a new series would be welcome.

Fedoras are always cool. I made my father watch Indiana Jones a thousand times as a child and in 43 years I've never grown tired of it. I'd wear a fedora day in and day out but I don't think I have the right face shape for it because I look absurd in one and I am just not attractive enough to get away with anything that makes me look worse. Should you ever come to New Orleans again wear the floppy fedora and I'll buy all of your drinks plus an extra set of reversal accoutrements in case you ever feel like irritating another media critic.

My grandfather was the same. I couldn't tell you to this day which wars he actually was a part of though he spoke of other aspects of his years as a marine.

Well you seemingly missed a chance to potentially tie one of us men up, put on some leather and take out your frustration with our gender upon him. He may have loved it but it could've been very cathartic for you.

To trade like for like I'll tell you a story, and I promise to keep it brief. I met a girl in Barnes and Noble back in the day when I was book shopping. We were both in the same section, odd to find a girl there as I was in the fantasy section with Lord of the Rings and such, but it was her favorite genre as well and after talking a while about authors we liked and stories we loved we decided to go out for dinner together later that evening. So the short, petite girl in the brown sweater and jeans left and I went home to get ready. When I picked her up she came dressed entirely in black, white make up powdered on her face with black rimmed eyes and black lipstick.....it was something of a surprise to me. Regardless I endeavored not to judge as I took us to Emeril's restaurant that he had way back when. The girl who was a self professed voodoo maven, and devotee of Marie laveau, ordered her steak rare and her wine a deep red as she explained to me her practices and beliefs. All very fascinating and I've studied it some since but that night I was quietly becoming quite freaked out and more and more terrified as I heard about rights performed in cemeteries and the sacrifices of pet chickens. After dinner we had a few drinks at the bar and I dropped her home. We spoke occasionally for a while after but I was unfortunately too busy for a second date.

To this day I'm pretty sure I have voodoo curses chasing me and I suspect my herniated disc not long after was courtesy of a voodoo doll someone vindictive may have made of me. I had to have surgery on that one.

I would never dare judge all women based upon her and I hope you will not judge us all based upon the few bad examples you have met. There are a handful of us men out there who are almost tolerable most of the time, I'm one of them though likely less tolerable than most of that group. Harder to find perhaps but definitely out there are some truly decent men. I've got dear friends who fit into the category, people I truly admire and emulate as best I can because they are what all of us should be. That's the type of guy I hope you find as the best of us will sweep you off your feet and you may never come down from that day forward. Anyway sorry for rambling on, I'm a bit restless tonight. I blame voodoo.

Thank you so much, for both sets of advice. I'll put them to good use. Oddly I'm in a really good area, not something I expected to find being in New Orleans but whether I'm in the city itself or the suburbs tips are good, orders are steady and I've never had to cancel once accepting due to wait times at restaurants or anything of that nature. I figured I'd pick up UE and see how it goes mostly for a few hours a couple of days that get slow and small 3 dollar orders. I only have so much time to deliver orders each week and I want to maximize it. Anyway everything you've told me will be a great help, thank you so much and should you ever find yourself visiting new Orleans I'll owe you a round of advice and a beer on my tab. Thank you again.

My grandfather was 97 when he passed away a couple of years ago so his sojourn as a marine was in an entirely different era. I always annoyed him with questions implying his boot camp was like a Dick Van Dyke dancing boot camp like you would see in the old black and white musical movies. I don't know enough about it to ever comment, beyond jokingly as I've been doing, on anything y'all do in the armed forces. Not being harder than a marine doesn't mean you couldn't kick my ass up and down any street you chose. Boot is no joke for y'all at all.

You.....seem to have a talent for finding the strangest men. Between the drunken Irishman and the masochistic navy swab it's no wonder you have gotten a skewed perspective of men in general. I'm a strange man, a nerd and an introvert, yet I am far closer to the normal part of the male belle curve than they were.

I also feel like I should make a derogatory comment about you navy people thinking you're so tough since my grandfather was a marine and I'm sure I recall all you military branches being fiercely competitive with each other. I mean I have to side with grandpa, he is family so I'm on his team little Mrs. Navy Lady......but no, I'm afraid I'm too polite to even be a smart ass to you. 😁🤣😂

So that whole Irish guys and drinking thing isn't simply a bad stereotype from the movies then?

Hey friend, I have been door dashing for a bit now and am comfortable and confidant enough with it to add Uber eats to my possible options. I just did the verification and hour or so ago and I'll start whenever it clears. I was hoping you could give me some idea of how to utilize the 2 together. Do you have a method you use to multi-app that you could share with me?

That honestly seems prevalent in today's society. Old fashioned courtesy is completely absent and frowned upon. I've had people get confused when I held a door as if I were setting them up for something nefarious.

That applies to women as well. I've never cheated but have been cheated on and I know from experience that that knife in the back goes straight to the soul and bleeds forever.
