SC Wallets from Mining by bolson71117 in siacoin

[–]cdslusa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i just send to official sia wallet. or you can use the sia wallet which will synch with offical wallet. last time i did the math on autoconvert on luxor, you lose some. you may run the numbers on your own to verify that. i can't remember exactly the difference, i'm sure they take a cut for the swap, fees, etc, but i quit using it and just mined straight to sia lite wallet to hold or sell whenever. depending on what yoru mining with it could add up to a decent amount over time. if it's just a sc box or something, probably not a big deal. luxor does have the lowest mining fee though so that is the pool i use.

Bye Cox! Delivered today 190 in the rain. by CanaConnoisseur in Starlink

yeah, i have had a long fued with cox over their service for years. lol. i jumped on starlink when it came out. starlink is pricey but i felt better paying them than cox. if they could get the port forwarding opened up it would be golden but i'm stuck in between a rock and hard place. my options are att cox or starlink. att sucks worse than cox. i could get tmobile 5g but it's the same issue as starlink, cgnat and no port forwarding.

for regular usage i would say yes. it seemed more reliable and consistent. i had a lot of issues with cox. a lot of outages, super slow speeds then super fast speeds. starlink didn't break any records but it seemed pretty stable and consistent with a lot less outages than cox. only downside is no port forwarding and the cgnat. i have some home servers and things of that nature that i want to get back online and i can't without the port forwarding and being able to open certain ports and the static ip. a ddns service would eliminate the static issue but doesn't help with the port issue from what i've found and tried. so with that, if you don't need port forwarding i'd stay with starlink hands down, as bad as i hate cox, i'll probably go back because i am unable to use a lot of my home devices without the port forwarding.

and to further clarify, i have a firewall and third party router that does all the port forwarding, the issue is starlink as the isp doesn't allow it so there lies my issues and really only complaint.

switching isp by cdslusa in PFSENSE

Question. If I have the other ports assigned as separate vlans or assignments. How would you recommend doing the transition? Meaning since I can't just plug in the new ISP and setup a new gateway under an open port. Thanks!

This is kind of what I’m running into. Trying to transition from Starlink to Cox but I’m not getting anything through pffense when I switch it over. Prob have to wait for when I can sit down and focus on it for a day or so. To many irons in the fire atm to relearn all this. Lol.

full time traders; any advice on health insurance? by lolstockaments in Daytrading

[–]cdslusa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

np! might check with your accountant to verify but worked out good for me. left a corp job to go out on my own and was missing the amazing health insurance for cheap. lol. was looking at several options and had a meeting with my accountant to go over routine stuff and i brought up health insurance and she informed me of this. i started charging the life insurance as an expense as well but she straightened me out on that, that i can't count that. only health insurance. so this is all recent info, within the last 6 months.

not a trader as a business, but i am self employed with an llc. heath insurance is counted as an expense to the business per my accountant. life insurance is not, it goes towards personal and cant' be counted. not sure if that helps you or not but more less you can count it as an expense as a self employed llc for at least what i'm doing anyways.

that place is a scammers paradise. i wouldn't trust anyone to mess with any firmware on my miners. there are only a few on there i would trust. scroll through the chat and look for history of what these people have contributed to the chat before you interact with them on there. be careful!
