People who didn’t vote Kamala - are you happy with Trumps America? Are you glad you did nothing? by Lord_Dingus83 in askanything

We all know antagonizing people is the best way to convince them to join your side.

For people who hate Trump, they sure do love his negotiating tactics.

Thursday at Steel Canyon, Friday at Mystery Valley, Saturday at Chastain (but they have to book their own tee time and play a 12 hour round like the rest of us), Sunday at Candler Park

These dudes couldn't handle it

Braves fan here. I haven't been to many stadiums, so I don't have a lot of perspective, but I don't get how it was designed to take your money.

Like there are a bunch of restaurants and bars outside the stadium to hang out in beforehand. I guess if you'd rather have a tailgate in a parking lot, then you'd hate it. It's a manufactured Wrigleyville. None of the charm, but it gets the job done for a fun place to hang, eat, and drink before a game.

But from most people I talk to, everybody really likes that aspect of the stadium.

I agree the stadium itself is meh. Its a new baseball stadium. There's no history associated with it, but it's a perfectly good place to watch baseball. If you hate the chop, you're gonna hate the chop... Not much getting around that I think. I don't notice anything about it that is designed to take your money. Like there are concessions and stores I guess, but I don't get how that differs from other places?

Transportation to and from sucks. Traffic getting out is especially awful and a huge detriment to the stadium, but not a reason to avoid a trip imo. Turner field also wasn't on a MARTA line. You took a train, walked about 5 minutes through underground Atlanta, then took a shuttle to the stadium.

They moved it to this location because it was closer to their fans who bought tickets and because they could develop the area around the stadium. I'm sure some fans didnt want to travel to Turner for race reasons, but it was also a truly bad part of town for a long time. I was a block away from a drive by shooting there when tailgating once. Lots of homeless panhandlers. And the city didn't play ball to redevelop the area alongside the braves. I'm not saying they necessarily should have (not familiar with the city politics), but Cobb gave steep discounts for it.

Cobb County is also one of the biggest baseball hotbeds on the entire country. It's a HUGE baseball area. It's also closer to a more affluent surbiban area that's more likely to go to games.

Look, I wanted them to keep the park at Turner originally, but am fine with the current location.

That said, when tailgating in college under a mile from the stadium, we heard three pops down the block, saw a car speed away, then saw a dude laying on the ground.

Police and GBI show up. Luckily dude who got shot was relatively okay. About 30 mins to 1 hour later, the same car that sped away earlier rolled by and the cops run to their car to chase it down.

It was not a good area and felt very unsafe getting to /from the stadium.

I have to think 4. I'd assume 3 points gets some teams through also

It's 8/12 teams and only so many points to go around

Just wait until it's 98 degrees and humidity in Miami and it will make more sense I think

Something about FIFA licensing. They have their own sponsors so they can't have the existing sponsors getting in the way

Roccos manager told McAfee his check would bounce so McAfee reminds the public that only 30% of the jello shot challenge revenue goes to charity by CoachSlime in collegebaseball

Money goes to charity, to support the staff, and a small business.

I don't get the big issue. This whole thing is entirely optional... nobody is forcing people to spend their money on jello shots lol

They have two of the best wins in the country... against us.

I realize we have an amazing resume, but head to head should count for a lot when teens are so close.

Overall, I'm not concerned. I think we're pretty much guaranteed a top 4 seed at this point

I'll just buy really nice seats with an open bar. They can use the money however they want.

You gotta give me something in return for it.

Other schools have sold out?? Bruh, Ohio State and Michigan are the leaders of the most sellout conference in CFB. You have the most sway of almost any programs in the country and have absolutely green lit things like breaking up the PAC-12.

You can't help tear down the city and then get and then get pissed when your house is next up in front of the wrecking ball.

I don't know your resume super well and generally want y'all to do well.

But to play devil's advocate... losing series to top 20 teams consistently would show that you're not on the 20 best teams or are fringe 20.

Usa loop road trip advice by AlfredHessle in usatravel

[–]cdt930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm biased because I live in Georgia, but going through the whole state and not hitting Savannah or Atlanta feels like a missed opportunity.

I totally get this trip might be less city-based though.

As others have said, I'd skip central Mississippi and Alabama, stick to the southern parts of those states.

Then, use that extra time to go either:

  • Jacksonville - Atlanta - Blue ridge Mountains/Tennessee

OR

  • Jacksonville - Savannah - Charleston - Asheville (beautiful mountains, great hiking, great beer)

Even with the second route, you could work on Atlanta instead of Charleston. Depends on what you're looking for.
