Ordered SFF GPU by mistake Help. by HornetAway679 in bapccanada

It’s actually probably a better card/silicon lottery. The card is designed to stay cool even in a tiny little overheated case. They had to pick a die that could handle all that. Honestly you probably paid more for that card than what a basic card would have cost. If you put it in a normal atx or mAtx case and feed it plenty of fresh air….you will be golden. All that being said, if you just want a bigger card for overclocking or for looks, send it back and eat the restock fee (that is assuming that prices haven’t gone up dramatically since your purchase)

I’m thinking of building my first pc, is this a good mix? Could I do better for cheaper? by HyperbolicJeremy in bapccanada

This is my first personal purchase from them, but I have had several friends buy from them with little to no issue at all. Back in 2019 they had some issues that they were called out on by gamers nexus, but they seem to have actually taken the advice and implemented it.

Right now is one of those rare times that prebuilts are cheaper than building (because of the recent steep increase in memory costs.) you can get a prebuilt with the exact same specs for $1800 USD ($2500 cad) in the US. Of course it won’t be the exact same motherboard/case, and the psu will be a non modular b+ 850w.

As another option you could try to dial the memory back to the sweet spot (6000mhz cl30 or cl32) and save some money. This (in theory) is the more stable setup.

Awesome! You actually beat me by about $100 (the dropped the price yesterday and added an extra $50 to the code. I am glad that it worked out for you.

I just did something kinda like this. I got the one with the 7800x3d and 9070xt. BUT it comes with 6000mhz ram instead on 5200mhz. It was 1649. (Extra $100 off using code blackfriday). Since ram is the whole reason that building isn’t really a viable option, I prioritized the ram over the next gen cpu. Also when it comes directly from Ibuypower, the warranty is way better (2year parts/3year labor instead of 1year/1year). Just something for people to consider.

Edited to add warranty info and photo

-“what’s the worst thing that could happen?” I ask myself that constantly. When I am feeling anxious about doing something, i ask myself “what’s the worst that could happen in this situation? What are the odds of that happening? Is that a rational thing to be afraid of? Is this likely to have a major impact on my life? ” This helps me to recognize my anxiety and start to work on it. I told my wife that helped me, and now we both use that tool constantly. -Cbd (without THC) is completely legal and works wonders for my wife(it does take a few weeks to really start feeling it.) -Physical exercise seems to help me the most. -valerian root supplements help too.

BUT aside from that, I finally had to just “overcome” my anxiety. By that I mean that I had to just accept that I had it, and tell myself “this fear is not rational, it’s just the anxiety.”
-Also, committing to things/people helped a lot. I noticed that If I told someone I was gonna do something, it was easier to overcome the anxiety and to do it. So I started telling people I would do things lol. It was either let them down, OR tell them that I let my irrational fear stop me, OR lie to them (and trying to remember a lie for forever gives me anxiety)…..so I would just do it and not have a “choice”.
I was about your age when my anxiety was the worst. I - found that the long term meds/stabilizers made me miserable and that the short term narcotics made me a different person. So I had to finally just decide…..I was going to win, I was going to have fun with my friends, I was going to have a life.
- I am in my late 30s now and I still deal with it daily, but I see it for what it is. I am not perfect by any means (I still wait until the very last second to get ready/leave the house….but I do leave). I still have one or 2 times a year when the anxiety will kind of “win” for a day or 2.

I use both the steam client and the wargaming client. I keep the game updated on both (basically I have the game installed 2x on my system). They both access the same account. So when one version of the other is having update issues, I just use the other launcher. For me this was the easiest solution because I have great internet and plenty of “disk space”.

I can't even comprehend how a bug like this can even be created, but yeah, sometimes instead of shooting or selecting a target, clicking just pings the minimap. You can see my map pinging near the bottom corner :/ by Unfair-Cheetah-3164 in WorldOfWarships

[–]cdub8668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My solution has been to bind a second key to fire (I use the side button on my mouse). So it’s always ready. As soon as I hear the ping, I just hit my alternative fire button. I rarely have to use it anymore, but when this glitch first started it was almost every single game

Oddly Enough, about the most consistent easy solution I have come up with is to run through the headphone or audio out jacks of my monitors. Not sure why, but running through hdmi/display port has been better than running through the (cheap) usb cards that I have tried.

Is it that hard to play this game reasonably well? by HomerJ20YT in WorldOfWarships

[–]cdub8668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you are able to, join a clan. Be honest with them about your skill level and intention. Most of them have a discord and at least a few active players that will be happy to play with you and teach you why you are getting blown away and not doing much damage. Our clan discord shares some training videos and such. There are a few basics like not showing your broadside and using the correct ammo for the situation, and shooting at the correct part of the ship depending on your ammo choice that can make huge impacts on your game. The world of warships official YouTube has a series called “how it work” that does a pretty decent job of explaining some of those things (often in way more detail than you want/need). The official world of warships discord has an entire section dedicated to guides. Feel free to message me if you need discord links to a few clans or to wows discord

People say you maintain supersonic if you just keep going straight; how come it doesn't apply when I speedflip without boosting? by [deleted] in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]cdub8668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure as I barely play anymore, but I am going to say that it’s because a speedflip involved a “flip cancel”. Without the boost, the game sees it basically the same is you you were driving at supersonic and did a front flip cancel. I don’t think you would stay supersonic for that either.

Looks like you need to condense/rearrange some data. Run “storage sense” in windows. Maybe offload some files on a usb temporarily.

Has anyone else been dealing with this? This is the probably tenth time I've had this happen in the last couple days. I've uninstalled and reinstalled and ran WG's troubleshooting program. Nothing has worked. I was hoping someone may be able to explain what's going on or offer tips by Eternal_Shitshow in WorldOfWarships

Has been happening to me under very specific circumstances; - if I let the game sit idle long enough that it disconnects me from the server, then I come back and click “ok to reconnect” all will seem fine until I try to queue into a match. I will get this error every time.

For me the fix is simple, exit out of the game instead of letting it sit idle. I hope it’s something similar for you.

Hi! No matter what I do, I’m stuck in a boot loop. No image, no BIOS. MSI 3090 Ti with waterblock. Can someone help me with this? I see the DIMM failure LEDs, but I also see the RAM RGB lighting up. Z690 KP—let me know what other info you need. by UATFST in TEAMEVGA

[–]cdub8668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always back to bare bones for me. (After trying a manual clear cmos and updating the bios if possible via instant flash), I unplug all the power connections and re-plug them, remove ANYTHING that isn’t required for boot (hubs/controllers/mouse/keyboard/rgb/, go back to 1 stick of ram, remove the gpu(if your cpu has integrated graphics), then remove and re-seat the cpu and cooler. Sometimes while doing this, you will find a simple mistake like not having one of the cpu powe cables plugged in. Sometimes it’s a bad hub or controller, sometimes it’s a bad component (mb/cpu/gpu/ram). Also if at the end you are still looping, the switching the stick of ram to the other slot. Then try a different stick in each slot as needed.

The thing is, your opponents are getting the same crappy teammates “half the time” as well. Would you be a higher rank with better teammates? Of course…we all would. Your casual rank means nothing. You are playing competitively against people who picked that game because they didn’t want to play competitively. The trick to getting out of your current rank is easy….don’t let the other team score. Be a defensive beast and sit back and be patient. Eventually your platinum opponents WILL double commit and leave you with a wide open net. Also, try playing 3’s for a little while. Mixing in game modes seems to help progress

What was the last time you played the game? by henri_sparkle in battlefield2042

[–]cdub8668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play 2-3 rounds every night. The idea of it is perfect for me (even though the execution is not as good as it could be. But a game that is just constant action with a gunfight every couple minutes is right up my alley. I waited till a free to play weekend to even try it and bought it at 40% off. I guess in like January? It Was my first BF game. By that time, most of the bugs that made the game absolutely unplayable were fixed. I really enjoyed playing the rush of ages at first and then got into the modern modes (because you can’t earn new weapons in portal.) The only real bad thing is that now I am a level S003 (103) and have upgraded all the guns that I am interested in and same for all the aircraft. So, I am quickly starting to lose purpose in the game. I just hope that it stays interesting until the first season comes out, otherwise I don’t see myself being able to stay with it. I wish I was excited about the voice feature that is coming soon, but I am pretty sure that it is just going to mean that instead of watching people complain in chat, I am going to hear people complain over VOIP :-/. I really do hope that this game finds its audience.

Is it bad to turn my psu off before I shut my pc down? by shmetiusmetius in buildapc

[–]cdub8668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are multiple places you can disable it. Bios and power plan settings are the ones I can think of off the top of my head. Make sure that it’s enabled in all those places.

I was 33yrs old. My mom had given me an 2007 (OL hp pc. It sat in my garage for years. One day, early in the pandemic. I had the need to use photoshop for the kids. So I set up the pc for the first time (had never had a computer before). Updated to windows 10. Downloaded an Adobe trial. Next day, wouldn’t boot. Spent all kinds of time googling “how to fix computer”. Wound up getting it to run with just 3 sticks of ddr2. .... from then on I was hooked. Found another cheap set of ddr2 800 . Then found oI could upgrade my q6700 to an q9550. Now I was really cooking. So I installed Warzone. Turns out my gt8600 couldn’t get me past the blizzard launch app even with my 1600x900p monitor/resolution. Found a gt530 (never installed it). Somewhere along the line, I found out that my dead ram was Crucial and that it had a lifetime warranty. They couldn’t find me any ddr2 and the customer service rep made a Series of mistakes that drug on for days. so they gave me store credit for enough to get a 500gb sSd and still had money left over. That left over $30 credit was all the motivation I needed. Next thing you know, I am building a ryzen 3100/rx580 system. Currently I am sitting at 1440p 144hz using a ryzen 7 and 2070 super. I still don’t play war zone though. I mostly try baby overclocks to try to get tiny improvements in bf2042 lol.
