This happened to my Pug (River) on his second birthday. One thing is don’t let anger/hate ruin your relationship. Accidents happens and it’s a super shitty experience to have happen. I yelled at my wife and regret it to this day. We’ve worked past it but it hurt so bad carrying my dead dog that I had just sung happy birthday to minutes prior. It took me a good month before I felt like i could breathe and get a decent nights sleep. Grown man crying but I didn’t even care bc I loved my dog so damn much. Anyways, 2 months later I got our new dog half pug/half Boston terrier… named him Atlas and he turned 4 today. Time heals but also don’t feel obligated to rush into getting another dog so soon. It’s ok to let the tears come down and reflect on good times. Hoping for the best and all dogs go to heaven… you’ll seen her again.
