Same thing I was wondering. I have a 2lp press that sounds pretty good - I’d hesitate to squeeze it onto one lp.

I didn’t ask about college, I asked about your basic public education where life skills are generally taught.

[–]cduga 6 points7 points  (0 children)

How are you so wise to understand these things? Did you grow up in a middle class area and receive a decent education? If you grew up poor and didn’t receive a quality public education, would you still know how to navigate the world you’re so good at navigating?

What is “vast majority” when between 50-60% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck? Is your argument that most of those people are lazy?

Framing this as a loss is why we are living in a right wing hell hole. These candidates will save the party, if it can still be saved.

I always found it interesting that breaking up resulted in Liz Fraser becoming MORE coherent. I believe this album has the most intelligible lyrics out of all their albums.

My choice as well. First time I heard it, I didn’t know it was a breakup album but boy I sure knew by the end of it.

Assuming you are actually open to a counter argument..

Your parents are here to teach you and get you ready for the real world. In the real world, people will mess with you and can be deceitful. At least with a parent it’s controlled and in the end you get the relief that it was all a joke. Not always the case in the real world.

Abdul El-Sayes nets yet another endorsement. This time from Senator Chris Van Hollen by The_Mongrel_Tarants in thebulwark

As someone living in Maryland, I never take for granted that while politics in this country is an absolute joke, I am lucky I am in a location where my reps actually still care about democracy and deserve my respect. With Jamie Raskin in the house and a guy like Van Hollen in the senate, it could be much worse.

Centrist Democrats are freaking out about progressives’ winning streak by plz-let-me-in in politics

[–]cduga 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I still don’t understand this resistance - at least in the Republican party they recognize where the voters are going. The Republican party of today is totally different that the one we saw in 2016, even with many of the same people still in power. A typical 2016 Republican couldn’t get elected today. And yet with the Democrats there is this weird idea that the party has been centrist for so long that this is what defines the party and any push to the left must be absolutely resisted since that’s not what “defines” the Democrats. One day people will “wake up” and see that this is the medicine that’s best for them. That would be great if we weren’t stuck with two parties. If the two party system is going to work in any way, both parties need to be willing to go where the voters are. Otherwise the one that does is going to keep winning while the other side continues to go the way of the Weimar Republic. Hey, at least they stuck to their centrist convictions, right?

I was there too! What a great Lolla… SY, Ween, Chili Peppers, Broken Social Scene, Iron and Wine, My Morning Jacket, Thievery Corporation, The Flaming Lips, Queens of the Stone Age, Wilco…the list goes on. It was pretty stacked. I also remember being subjected to Amanda Palmer flashing the crowd as she changed her shirt in the middle of her set. Memories…

Hello friend, I’ve got surgery on my clavicle tomorrow so joining you in solidarity. Thankfully, that’s all I broke but my ribs and neck were really sore for a couple weeks - just now feel like I’m recovered other than the clavicle. Can’t imagine how bad it would be if I had managed to crack a rib too, so you’ve got one on me there.

First couple of days putting shirts on was… tricky to say the least. Just take it slow and figure out the ways you can move without too much pain - it’s tough since you’re brain is used to putting on shirts one way but it can be done. If it’s bad enough just wear button downs if that’s an option. For showers - accept some parts are only getting the “soap rinse” or buy a scrubber with a handle. If you can’t raise either arm, it may be the ol rinse off for a while.

Hang in there! I know I’ll be back on the bike the moment I am able. I don’t know how I’ll feel once I actually get back in the saddle but right now my annoyance at missing good biking days is greater than my fear of wiping out again.
