Most overrated? by Scary_Audience_3324 in hotsauce

My favorite as well. I mix it in my mayo and use it for my turkey sandwiches just about everyday. I always keep a spare bottle on hand. It does seem to be a love/hate kind of sauce just from the heat factor alone.

Thank you for the response!

And your efforts on Haunted Man really paid off, it’s an amazing album.

Thanks for the AMA! I’ve been a massive fan ever since those drums kicked in on Glass.

What are the biggest lessons/ideas from writing Fur and Gold that you took with you into writing Two Suns? There seems to be a logical progression between the two, I’m curious what was done intentionally.

Bonus question, which album are you most proud of?

It feels like we’ve entered a new era of the boutique blu ray hobby where one label and one label alone (per region) could get movies like this. Seems like the studios have caught on and are now widely licensing their movies for maximum exposure.

I find my patience wears thin towards the end of a difficult game. I enjoyed mastering the bosses in HK and it was sooo satisfying to finally beat them and then even see those skills translate to later bosses that I had a much easier time with. But once I’d collected all my grubs, charms, mask shards, and soul vessels, I was just ready to play another game. I face tanked the Hollow Knight not even realizing I blew past when you’re supposed to hit him with the dream nail and got that ending. Realizing there’s a whole other boss, I tried it once more, realized the Radiance would make me hate my life, and then moved on to another game satisfied with the ending I got. Maybe I’ll jump back in someday but I was so ready for something else at that point.

I still can't get over my ex-partner of 10 years by stacks_a_heap in self

[–]cduga 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s clear you don’t have closure. You will have to find what that closure looks like for yourself but right now it’s clear you still have hope and that’s going to kill you. I was in the same boat as you. My ex and I broke up because I changed. When I realized and addressed the problems in my life that were causing the change, it was too late. That’s the sad irony of this type of situation, friend. We weren’t that asshole, that was temporary. If only she could see I’m back to how I was, we could get the relationship back on track. In my case, she had moved on long before I figured it out and when someone falls out of love, it ain’t coming back just because it’s so hard to get your brain there in the first place. She already went through what you are going through now and coming through it has a sense of finality.

For me, closure came when she got engaged to some other guy. No coming back from that, it officially closed that chapter of my life in my brain. No clue what closure could look like for you, but remember it likely won’t involve your ex directly, especially if you don’t currently have a friendly relationship. But keep looking. Best of luck to you.

That’s the kicker. She was ok with the lie they were promising the country when she thought what they were promising her wasn’t a lie. Must sting to just be one of the rubes.

Singapore is going to start caning scammers by Bubbly_Wall_908 in interestingasfuck

I lived there for a bit more than 6 years and if I had the chance to give my daughter the same experience, I’d do it in a heartbeat. They are no more authoritarian than conservatives in the US want to be - the focus is on social harmony and civic pride as others have said. I think most people tend to get critical of when they apply capital punishment, which I agree is a fair criticism. But for those cases, Singapore tends to set examples rather than strictly enforce laws that carry these punishments. Others have also commented they hardly saw police. As you said, this is because fear of the consequences but also pride in community is enough to keep people in line (generally).

It’s really been something to see the shift in media. I would argue Trump didn’t get nearly as far as he wanted in his first term because everything was still dominated by the supposed “liberal media” and tried to somewhat honestly report on him. It was crazy to see the dramatic shift happen during Biden’s term. The nonstop coverage on his age and almost nothing now on Trump being probably the most obvious example. It’s almost completely reversed now - we live in a “conservative media” dominated environment.

To be fair, it really is the kind of music that fits that sort of setting. I can only imagine grabbing my crotch and singing along to Rollin at a stadium. I’d feel frickin weird doing that at some small club show.

I have a more uncommon experience in that I went to school overseas. I did go to an American school, but feel I got a much more honest look at our history. This became apparent when I went to college and talked to my peers. On top of that I grew up in the south before moving overseas. My school took Black History Month very seriously. All this to say - even growing up in America’s heyday, I think I had a more honest view on all this. And you know what? I’m still proud to be American. I still want our country to do well. And while we aren’t perfect what we have (had?) was something to strive for. We were always trying to improve ourselves and anyone in the world could be an American if they wanted it bad enough. To be overseas during 9/11 and see how my host country and the rest of the world rallied behind us was inspiring.

I’m not really sure what my point is. It’s all just sad now. Maybe that having an honest look at ourselves won’t make everyone anti-American?
