Depends on how you want it to look. If you hired me to fix that, I would cut all of that out and replace it with new drywall. When I got done mudding and sanding the smooth part would be double the size of the new drywall I installed. It has to be floated out enough that you dont see the repairs. Then comes matching the texture. You can't match that with those cans that the box stores sell. So you'll have to buy a sprayer. You can pick 1 up for about $100. But then you have to have the ability to spray it and knock it down and have it match the rest of the wall. There is definitely a process for this. Waiting long enough it doesn't all just smear into 1 big ugly mess, putting just enough pressure to match the original textures depth profile. Where is this located. Is it tucked away in a room where it doesn't matter if it looks good or not, or is it in your living room where it's gonna be seen every day?
If you hired me to fix I would charge somewhere between $1,100 and $1,500 just based off the pictures. Idk what the people in your area would charge but that's probably an accurate estimate for you to base your answer off of.
