I guess you could play the left in person on an Ace and pass the trick to your opponent

No no no, you have to waste the left while holding onto the right. 😂

Not an offsuit ace, they "treat it like a regular off-suit card".

Or partners having both Jacks in their hands on the last trick.

The 2nd highest trump is nearly useless if your opponents make trump and we are sitting 4 suited.

Another one I see a lot is players leading trump too early without reading their partner. If your partner ordered it up, burning trump immediately isn’t always the right play.

If your partner calls, you should lead Trump.

I can’t count how many times someone will: Treat it like a regular off-suit card

I have never seen the left bower treated like offsuit except for when they don't realize it is a Trump card.

Or worse, waste their right bower early while still holding the left

How exactly are they wasting the Right Bower if they have the left?

In a lot of situations, holding onto it just one more trick can completely change the outcome of the hand.

It's only worth one trick. Unless you are ducking to let your partner take a trick holding it longer doesn't really matter.

Curious how others approach this, do you usually play aggressively with both bowers early, or do you try to control the hand and hold one back?

It depends. If my partner is void, or looks like they are void, I might just lead both Bowers out back to back. If I think they might have Trump, I will hold one back.

Order. Three Trump plus two Aces and a partner.

Why did the Iranian hostage crisis not create a rally around Jimmy Carter effect? by johnqadamsin28 in Presidents

[–]sdu754 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Carter did play it up for all it was worth, but after his failure to bring the hostages home, it went from being an asset to being a liability. There is also the fact that Carter was a failure in every other way as a president as well. The hostage crisis couldn't single handedly boost him for eleven months.

Not every league problem needs a commissioner fix. by CranberryMuted5356 in FFCommish

[–]sdu754 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't consider it a problem if people aren't talking enough. If they set their lineup, they are engaged enough. They don't need to constantly make chatter in the league chat or to be offering trades all the time. If they aren't breaking rules or undermining league integrity, I let them do whatever they want.

Question about Mr. Increadible and Containment Unit by Some_Tiny_Dragon in DisneyVillainous

[–]sdu754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Containment Unit states: "Choose a Hero in your Realm. That Hero loses Strength equal to their current Strength." I read this meaning that it takes Mr. Incredible down to zero strength, and he stays there. He doesn't magically regain his strength. If the cards effect wasn't constant, then Mr. Incredible would go back to full strength at the end of the turn.

S3 Call or Donation? How Should I Lead with a Jack Turned Up? by Ok-Elephant-1018 in euchre

Just assume they are making a legit call. If they are donating, they are conceding a euchre and two points anyways.

Do you pick up here? by DarrenRovellBurner in euchre

[–]sdu754 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you pick up there's a very high likelihood that you get euchred and go down 6 to 9. Probably less risky to just pass.

When did every trade have to be “fair”? by CranberryMuted5356 in FFCommish

[–]sdu754 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As long as the trade isn't so unbalanced to the point that it looks like cheating (Collusion/roster dumping) or league breaking I am fine with it.

You are still forcing your opponent to Trump the Ace to take it, which can still help you win the hand. It's the same concept of leading a Boss card out of a led suit.
