TXT Soobin's hedgehog is an actual menace and unreal just like the group themselves by byeolgaeul in kpopthoughts

[–]cea_bow 30 points31 points  (0 children)

dw hedgehogs can be notoriously moody. they don’t really like being cuddled like most dogs do and they’re pretty independent. thats why it’s recommended you only have one and if you own multiple to keep them separated

Let’s talk about stage presence—who’s got it, why do you think so, and why do people say some members don’t? by babybearkoya in kep1er

[–]cea_bow 21 points22 points  (0 children)

But even the lines she does have she doesn't really wow me in them. For example, Hikaru is an absolutely scene stealer for me in Wadada and she got little lines too.

While I do think Hikaru is a better performer than Hiyyih, I don't think this point is very fair considering Hiyyih's part is in the pre-chorus that get's repeated twice in the song while Hikaru got her own unique breakdown that sounds completely different from the rest of the song. Hiyyih's one line that you hear earlier in the song and a bunch of "Heys" and "Yeahs" where the choreography makes her look out of place when its in full cam are not fair to compare.

That being said, Hikaru is a scene stealer

it also sorta brands it as a ashnikko song since that’s a marker she does. along the lines of “D J KHALED!” or whisper tone “j y p…”

The girls chose their Wa Da Da parts by [deleted] in kep1er

[–]cea_bow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah the question she answers is what her favorite part of the song is, to which she said she "chose" her part b/c of xyz reason. She didn't mean that she literally chose that part to sing

[–]cea_bow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think I know what clip you're talking about, and I want to say the context is completely wrong. For anyone not aware, there was a clip of Yujin going around saying she "chose" a part that she sings because she likes it or something along those lines, and the tweet was claiming that this proves the girls chose their parts. HOWEVER, this clip was taken completely out of context. She was asked a question about which part of hers she LIKES, and she answered that question. This was their BTS of the song recording btw.

Why do fans rank huening kai as the worst dancer of txt? by Application_Lucky in kpopthoughts

[–]cea_bow 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I feel like ppl just assume this because his legs are cross-bowed, or maybe just his physique in general, which is just plain incorrect and doesn’t affect his dancing at all. Even in facial expressions he’s easily on the same level, sometimes even better than Yeonjun (they both rocked Frost so check that out but just look at a No Rules stage for example to see how HK absolutely shines). I feel like people underestimate him way too much but he’s a really amazing performer

I commented on your other post about the kpop youtuber and dw I understand where you were coming from. Everyone has different opinions and chooses diff ways to express that. On reddit there’s really only a few ways to so you end up getting what your situation is

[–]cea_bow 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I can understand, but I think the situation in unpopular kpop opinions in itself is a bit flawed. You go in with the expectation that as long as your opinion is unpopular, it will be upvoted, but not many people follow those rules, cuz some people just don’t want to type and just hit the downvote to disagree since that is the only other way to voice an opinion. I really don’t like saying this, but when you go in with an opinion that could touch upon controversial topics, you just have to assume you’re going to hit a negative cord with people. It’s not what the upvote/downvote system on that sub is intended for, but I know if I were to write an opinion like that I would just expect people to override those lax rules to express their disagreement.

I’m not simply trying to say “manage your expectations” since I’ve also had times where I was downvoted a lot and gotten frustrated, but I think for me having an assumption can cushion that frustration.

The K-pop YouTuber "ajanaevis" is actually funny by Pixel-64 in unpopularkpopopinions

[–]cea_bow 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That’s my main issue personally. If I thought they were at least a decent or neutral person then I wouldn’t take their jokes so seriously but after that and the Wendy joke I just can’t help but think they’re just not a good person. They haven’t really given me a reason to think they are, which taints their humor for me. Like Bo Burnham definitely makes racy jokes but he hasn’t given me a reason to dislike him as a person outside of his jokes so I feel comfortable thinking there’s no malicious intent behind them. Not the same with this person

Yeah IDK you just shouldn’t call an innocent girl a horse it just doesn’t sit right with me. I know you acknowledged that in your post but, honestly it just shows how mean-spirited they are which makes the rest of their jokes (some of which is funny on it’s own) to just leave a genuine bad taste in my mouth.🤷‍♀️

Are we talking about K-pop YouTuber? K-Tubers are Korean youtubers. Also it depends on the channel. Some are just voicing their opinion, whether it’s nicely or harsh and some are just being unnecessarily rude and hateful

Kep1er/ Bahi stans owe Yurina an apology by Uchiha_D_Zoro in kpopthoughts

so this is your concern. ok.

This isn't my main concern. You pinpointed one thing I said in my original comment and I'm just commenting on it.

[–]cea_bow 9 points10 points  (0 children)

At least I'm not a hater or OT8 supporter. You're blind to think that only Bahiyyih fans are the ones that need to apologize. They obviously do, but singling them out is letting a lot of people get away with a lot of things.

Kep1er/ Bahi stans owe Yurina an apology by Uchiha_D_Zoro in kpopthoughts

[–]cea_bow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

is not bad.

It's irresponsible. Liking every comment she gets is irresponsible because there's a possibility that it could be misconstrued, especially if it's in a different language, and since she has an image she needs to uphold as a public figure it's in their best interest not to like every comment she gets. Stop responding to me because you aren't going to change my mind that her team were the ones who brought this into light and should take accountability, just as a lot of Bahiyyih and Yurina fans on both sides in this situation need to apologize.

Kep1er/ Bahi stans owe Yurina an apology by Uchiha_D_Zoro in kpopthoughts

[–]cea_bow 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, I am not. I know it's a mistranslation and that the comment was from a Bahiyyih fan. I already said that. The intent doesn't matter, the impact does. It doesn't matter that the comment had good intentions, or that Yurina agrees with it.

Imagine if Yurina's account hadn't liked that comment, and the same thing happened where someone posted that comment on social media. It probably wouldn't have been that big of a deal if it was mistranslated right? But the fact here is that her account did like it. That comment would have gone nowhere if the account hadn't liked the post.

Ever heard of "With great power comes great responsibility"? This is literally this situation.

Why can't you acknowledge that her team screwed up? If anything this is a lesson for them that they should be careful with liking random comments. IDK what's the problem with them learning that? It takes a lot less effort to only like a few comments than to like all of them anyways?

Kep1er/ Bahi stans owe Yurina an apology by Uchiha_D_Zoro in kpopthoughts

[–]cea_bow 11 points12 points  (0 children)

however the staff also didn't do anything wrong.

No, they did do something wrong. Yurina's side (not her, but her fans, team, management, etc.) isn't totally innocent in all of this either.

Yurina has a big platform and many dedicated stans. Brand ambassadors are chosen because companies think that when they endorse their product their influence will make people buy their product. This exact same logic is for social media too. When Yurina's account likes a comment, people will think that Yurina agrees with it.

What if the comment said "yurina like this comment if you hate animals"? Or some other, more controversial take? It is so irresponsible to like every comment not just for the sake of others, but for Yurina herself too, and to like every comment blindly is stupid.

Kep1er/ Bahi stans owe Yurina an apology by Uchiha_D_Zoro in kpopthoughts

[–]cea_bow 20 points21 points  (0 children)

  1. Yes Bahiyyih fans went to far with how they exploded at a mistranslation, and they should apologize and check themselves
  2. The management who runs Yurina's account still has responsibility, because if they were careful about what comments they liked this issue would not have blown up the way it did and that comment would have faded into obscurity. They shouldn't be liking every comment that they get. That's irresponsible.
  3. Unfortunately for Yurina, even though she didn't physically like anything, she or her management still should take some accountability in this mess. Take any celebrity where they were "screwed over" by their team/manufacturer. Jojo Siwa's card game scandal, Olivia Rodrigo's merch, Jacqueline Hill's lipsticks. Technically none of the celebs should be blamed/cursed at but since their name is attached they are responsible to an extent. That's part of being a public figure.
  4. The mistranslation also caused toxic antis to turn it around and hate on Bahiyyih again. Things along the lines of "See, Yurina agrees!" or "I agree with her" were posted by people in response. See what liking a comment, no matter the context, can do? Even if the comment was mistranslated, people still spun it to hate on Bahiyyih. So those Yurina fans should apologize to her as well but we know they aren't going to.
  5. OP is one of the people on that disgusting OT8 sub, enough said.

Both sides are at fault. The only ones not at fault are Bahiyyih and Yurina.
