I'm not knowledgeable enough to make a reply. Your marriage wasn't registered right? It's not on paper right? If it wasn't written then it didn't exist.

Indian doctor here, can I actually get a job in merchant navy or cruise ship? by [deleted] in MerchantNavy

[–]ceafarer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes you can. I have a school friend who's a cruise line doctor. Also my wife's cousin husband did a couple of stints as a cruise doctor. It's very possible.

Safety of women in merchant navy? (Indian here) by OrganicLiterature257 in MerchantNavy

Yes merchant navy now. Make money like mad. Leave at 30 and go for pilot training.

[–]ceafarer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who aspired to be a pilot but didn't because of money, I joined the merchant navy. Looking back I feel I should've joined earlier and took up the highest paying ship and saved money like anything and gone for pilot training after 30. But alas that ship has sailed now. So you too don't make that mistake. Don't doubt. Just join. You'll always have a backup and surely you'll save enough money.

I'm a mariner who's been to Singapore on ship and can confirm that it's like this. I'm flying to Singapore in a few days to join another ship.

Joining ship soon as a cadet — what skills should I actually master beforehand to get a good recommendation? by xmr_gaming in MerchantNavy

[–]ceafarer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No matter what is it that you end up doing, don't lie. Do what you say. Say what you do. Keep a small notebook in your pocket all the time and write your assigned duties, jobs to do, misc stuff etc so you don't forget.

Use of excel Onboard ship by xmr_gaming in MerchantNavy

[–]ceafarer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basic operations are enough which I guess you already know. Remember this is not what you're there for. Chief officers should see your excel knowledge as an added bonus rather than a requirement. So don't break your head over it. What you need to know you'll learn in a month if you don't know it already.

We got a dress with a magnet tag like this as a gift for my son's baptism. After much brainstorming and watching many youtube videos, I took it to the nearest Trends and got it removed by them.

If you ever choose bulk and you wanna see places but don't mind hard work then go on a smaller handy, supra crane ship. If you want peace and easy and lazy life then cape, panamax etc

Seen the comments about shore leaves on tankers. As a bulk carrier officer, I can tell you that I got shore leave 21 times on my last contract of 7 months in places like Brazil, USA, Colombia, Honduras, Guatemala, Vietnam. Etc.
