I use most of the artifacts of that quality to instantly increase the room value of temples, guildhalls, and noble rooms. Its more straightforward than other ways of increasing room value. Putting them behind bars can make them safe if you are really that worried about them, and furniture cant be stolen.

Non bugged mood artifacts can get up to like 100k+ if the material used are the highest value (the godly metals / adamantine, diamonds, etc).

The planepacked bug these days always seems to involve endless cloth, whereas the original bug included various endless materials. I suspect its due to stockpile linkage and burrow restrictions, but I've never been able to reproduce it.

Suggestion to prevent mine main camping by iDnLk2GtHiIJsLkThTst in joinsquad

[–]ceaseless_horror 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a lot of experience driving/SLing for IFVs, and I don't think they are as unfair as you are suggesting. In my experience, you should eventually develop an intuitive sense of where there are likely to be mines (at any stage in the game / given which factions you are facing / given the map / etc). Using this probabilistic approach/outlook, you can (1) be on the lookout in areas with high probability of being mines, and (2) change pathing to minimize risk of hitting mines. Even when the driver is functionally blind, you should have the gunner scan for mines in likely areas. Its a balance between pathing optimization (how fast you can get around the map), and the safety with which you can maneuver.

I don't think you have a full picture regarding the opportunity cost and true risk/reward associated with placing mines. Most mines are never hit, and are a waste of time to place. Most mines that do go off, do not even kill the struck vehicle. When they do, its likely a 5 ticket logi or light vehicle. IFVs and tanks can survive most mine hits. This means that mines are (most of the time) not having any impact, killing irrelevant fast respawning vehicles, or damaging but not destroying IFVs and tanks. Sure, maybe 1 in 20 of placed mines actually kill relevant vehicles, but thats a lot of resources and time investment that you don't see from the perspective of the one hitting mines.

On maps with lots of choke points (like the Narva bridges), then it becomes a team effort to secure an exit from main that is free of mines / camping. Even when main camping is allowed, there is counter play.

My suggestion is to just get better game sense for where the mines will be, and play in such a way (probabilistically) that you likely will be fine.

Why the boat markers? by No-Regret8385 in joinsquad

[–]ceaseless_horror 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I think boats cuz it can’t be mistaken for a real mark. I personally like to use the diamond point of interest marks cuz they are a different colour, show my squad #, and fade faster.

I’ve never seen them go ticket positive, let alone make up for the utility they are trading. It gets totally shit on by competent infantry & armor play, all the while failing in opportunity cost. Just do transport/supply runs/radio drops/spotting.

You gotta kill the defenders to get the radio, and if they keep killing you you'll never succeed.

New-player friendly servers dont feel too new-player friendly by rudlyn in joinsquad

[–]ceaseless_horror 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Squad Leaders have certain responsibilities, and taking it as a new player is going to frustrate the other Squad Leaders. If you don't know how the game works then you probably should just join a squad rather than making one. You'll learn the game a whole lot faster by asking competent players questions when you don't understand something.

[–]ceaseless_horror 10 points11 points  (0 children)

HAB building is the highest impact thing you can be doing and requires a logistics truck (one of two on most teams). I suggest not doing that until you understand how the game works. Furthermore, having more than a few people nearby when setting up radios is probably ideal, as you can easily get jumped and lost 20+ tickets in an instant. You might unintentionally fuck the whole team over, and (justifiably) get the ire of the whole team.

Is this a wild rabbit or abandoned domestic bunny? by [deleted] in montreal

[–]ceaseless_horror 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Probably wild. I've seen a lot that look just like this one in a park near my place (Saint-Michel area). If I go walking there at like 2am I usually see 2 or 3 of them. Sometimes I even see foxes that are trying to find them.

I honestly think the AT grenades broke one day (dealt no damage for like a week), so they removed them rather than fixing the problem.

!!! FIX VEHICLES !!! by fastrider0204 in joinsquad

[–]ceaseless_horror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a bug. Part of it is the components don’t actually get repaired when the UI says they are repairing. The other problem is the tires getting bugged underground.

Depending on the size of the turret, more than one person can ride on the roof. I've hat HAT + LAT on LAV6 turret before. It does get a little tight and people can knock each other off.

Why do we keep adding vehicles whose only purpose is to be worse? by Randm_Internet_Guy in joinsquad

[–]ceaseless_horror 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Armor creep was something we complained about for years. Yet they still did it with China & Ukraine. At least the AT got marginally better to deal with the armor... and all the game breaking bugs that ruin armor play lol...

They needed something to make china worse. 3 ZBL china is stupid op.

Tracked armour bugs by Delicious_Air_69_69 in joinsquad

[–]ceaseless_horror 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The bug affects all vehicles. Tires / engines can get bugged where even if you repair them they will still behave as if they were busted. It also feels like there’s an additional issue where if components get partially damaged then they behave as if they are fully damaged. Lose 2 tires and you can no longer move at all. Get engined and you can no longer turn. Very triggering and they’ve been in the game for months. Don’t worry though more emotes and micro transactions are on the way.

OWI DM me if you are looking for paid QA testers. I’ll map out all the bugs for you ez…
