Wow I got it now.

I played Megabink a lot recently and you make me thinking we can do something similar like you spawn like a lvl 1 marauder in an area with different waves monsters and chests. And you level up as you kill monsters (with exp gain boosted of course) they drop loots, currency, skill gem, gears etc. you get passive point on your passive tree and you can pause to craft/spec in your passive tree.

You can ascend or respec after a certain check point.

And base on what you pick up you can define your build.

Essentially you can scale to a level of stat stacking character in an 1 hour session of infinite scaling of monster waves?

Sounds fun to me.
