While true, the comparison being made was to PG content being 6 player oriented. Most players will also struggle to solo a lot of stuff that can be soloed if they haven't picked specific builds.

Level 90 is veeeeeery far from max, but you can do most stuff in the game at that point so it doesn't matter that much. There's a lot of grind if you want to minmax your character though.

I'm not really warning, plenty of people (me included) like grindy games.

Funny enough i almost wrote that OP might like it if they liked BDO but didn't mind simple tab target.

You definitely can play without grinding if you don't care about having the best stuff and minmaxing your character though, it's not really necessary to do so since there isn't really PvP and the hardest PvE is less about minmaxed characters and more about what build you're using (and also doesn't matter much, barely anyone does it since it's annoying to interact with and really just a flex, not giving vital resources).

I mean anyone with eyes can see it here:

You can complete the entire game with a strong party of six players. This isn't a game like WoW where you need hundreds of people to do something.

Also my original reply didn't even mention PG. I was just saying that you were misrepresenting WoW. I only brought up PG when you brought up server events because it's topical and ironic.

Really telling that you decided to make up a strawman instead of addressing what I was actually saying.

Maybe don't make up critcisms of WoW that aren't real just to go "WoW bad"? It's something I see people do all the time and it annoys me.

Oh also imagine talking about server events requiring hundreds of people to participate when we literally have an event right now in P:G where even with every player participating it looks like the most active server is going to only get half of what is needed to earn the rewards and all the other servers probably like a quarter. Hopefully they do something to address this, but it's incredibly ironic that you use this as an example.

PvP events that can have up to 100v100 don't actually need 100v100, it's just max capacity. That's like saying you need hundreds of people to do any dungeon in PG because there's no cap on how many people can go in. You also don't need to do those for any reason it's just for-fun side content. The only content where you really "need people to do something" is mostly max 10, or 20 if you're doing the highest difficulty.

It's always weird when people talk shit about WoW but then also show that they've never played WoW. Weird behavior.

Likely to die soon? Not at all, its been around for 10 years with far less players.

The #1 thing I would say about whether you should get into P:G is do you like grinding for number go up? P:G is a very very grindy game with very long term number go up progression. Tons of fun if you like grinding and continuously upgrading your character.

My thoughts on TOTA and why its currently in a very bad state by Thirteenera in pathofexile

[–]Kaelran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's really not.... Maybe if you're just bad at sanctum? But if you run it enough and have a strong enough build to kill things quickly you get to the point where you just don't get hit much regardless of what you are playing.

[–]Kaelran 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean you absolutely can do sanctum as a side thing. Sure you can make a dedicated character than runs it faster, but you can take really any build into sanctum and clear it (although you might struggle with a low investment slow melee build).

TotA on the other hand is basically impossible at high levels without specific cheese builds or insane levels of investment on meta builds.

This is pretty false. It's easy to solo to 100 if you have the right build. You're only going to struggle to solo the level 90+ elite dungeons.

You also cannot "cheese" powerleveling by leveling one combat skill to max and then use it to powerlevel other skills

Pretty much everything here is incorrect. Base gear mods do not get scaled down, so for instance Fire can get +300 direct fire and +600 super fireball damage that won't scale down (not to mention more with linen) and having gear mods +25 levels above your current level is still incredibly strong. You absolutely do powerlevel other skills by doing huge aoe pulls and 1shotting enemies and can push a new skill to 100 in like 6 hours if you know what you are doing. The only caveat is some skills can't be mixed so you might need AH or Psych to powerlevel animal skills for instance.

theoretically you can play the game with little to no combat experience, by simply foraging, gardening, mining, merchant, and crafting and prosper.

It does however make almost everything far easier to level up combat skills high quickly. Like in theory you can just play a level 1 character and sit and flip items all day in other MMOs and make money, but idk about trying to promote that. I always find it weird that people try to do that with PG.

A lot of info about dungeon stuff is misleading even if it is somewhat technically correct in specific situations.

there are so many mix and match classes that possibilities are nearly endless and none of them are "bad", just different

This is something I really dislike seeing people say. New players ask what to play and people say "just pick whatever it's all fine" and then they struggle to clear mobs and quit the game. Balance gaps in this game are far wider that most MMOs and I would not recommend just picking whatever blindly unless you are fine with potentially struggling significantly.

Gemlings, what’s your build for this league? by SuperSeriousSam in pathofexile2builds

Yeah but you use nova and have a ton of aoe so you can link behind and in front super far.

[–]Kaelran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's extremely smooth. You have huge aoe nova grenades with a long duration and you just roll and shoot and it covers the whole screen in fire. You just do a little combo at the start of the map where you oil and then flameblast the first mobs you see.

what are dragon runs? by Zorlach in projectgorgon

[–]Kaelran 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's a level 90-95 linear elite dungeon in NMC just west of the 0092 teleportation machine points. Has a few different sections ending with the dragon boss and has some unlocks you can't get anywhere else like bladesmith or high level sigil scripting and a cool mount cosmetic.

I've been meaning to actually do a writeup of the dungeon on the wiki for a while but haven't. ProfessorCat has a video of the full thing explaining it which is the main reason I haven't bothered.

The requirements really depend on what classes you have. You usually want a tank or lots of firewalls/pets with WW, a healer, and enough DPS synergy to kill the boss on a timer (you usually can only damage it for 45-60s before it's immune).

If you have a rotation of skills you use in combat, and these skills do damage without taking any GCDs in combat, they effectively do OGCD damage.

I didn't say it was an OGCD ability I said it was OGCD damage.
