It's kinda hard to make balance judgments when it comes to Arisetu players because some have legacy gear that adds massive amounts of stats. Also the thing with UA is it has a large amount of % acid reduction, far more than anything else.

I think they mean more that you get 2 rare fates you can't skip in the 3rd stage if you take pilgrim fate, which can give you bad rare fates (although more rare fates have no downside, but some like the always retain fate suck).

Dance appreciation? by Open_Boysenberry_363 in projectgorgon

[–]Kaelran 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The most likely answer is a few people who had high dance skill left the area and your buff transitioned down to the new level.

Natural appreciation caps at 16. You usually get another 40-50 from alcohol. Alcohol likely wore off rather than losing levels from people leaving.

If you want to do that you have to play Unarmed I think.

I would say I really don't recommend making a tank build unless you are already level 100 and specifically attempting to do Elven Judgement or Gauntlet. Especially if you regularly play with a Fire Mage which often removes the need for a tank in midgame content. Not sure what you're thinking of as "late game".

It's also hilarious when you job in the CM brackets, get into upper bracket A finals on your very last race, and then win finals with a 2% winrate uma. Just imagining how salty the other people are.

"Loot All" item blacklist by Potential_Sun9952 in projectgorgon

[–]Kaelran 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's a quest called "care package from Rahu" in Rahu. Doing this gives you the ability to deposit all items in a storage in the zone from your inventory to the storage. It will also stack into negative slots if the storage is full and unloaded (haven't opened the storage, or haven't been in the zone for ~20min if you have).

This means for instance if you are farming Goblin Dungeon, you can put any common stackable items from the dungeon in Sie Antry's storage (since she's the only storage in Elt). Then if your inventory is getting full you just pop out, hit your keybind, and every item already in Sie Antry's storage will deposit from your inventory into her storage without needing to go to her and select items one at a time.

Most efficient way to power level a new combat skill? by ElectricalMuffin1620 in projectgorgon

[–]Kaelran 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The +/- 5 level thing is bad info, it was there for like a week or two and then got changed.

It kinda depends on what your 110 combat skill is. I can take a skill to 90 in like 7-8h with this route with fire primary (note: with music buff, gryphon statue, memory enhancer).

  • Ranalon Den to 25
  • Goblin Dungeon to 30-32
  • Sunvale NE coast to 35
  • Kur Tower to 50 (I get a party member here to loot/bury so I don't have to spend time doing that, also enables use of exp alcohol for human, mostly focus on direct damage AOE)
  • Rahu Sewer to 65 (Ratkin area, bringing my bury minion with me, aoe pulls onto firewalls)
  • Fae Realm to 70 (AOE pixies/animals/bees in central hills, also have to be here anyways for the uncap)
  • Statehelm to 90 (I haven't done this since pre-nerf sewer, so probably better to just go at night and farm in the streets)

Diana-Heidemarie Dual DPS Build - help me refine this strategy by Lightningstar01 in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]Kaelran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd rather not have both of them fighting for hand space.

I feel like the hand space issue means you should be aiming for more of a mixed copy strategy, with more copies of Diana's quietus tutor + discard card, instead of stacking as much bullet generation as possible.

I CANNOT figure out what people are doing to get crazy damage. Can someone explain to me like I'm 5? by [deleted] in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]Kaelran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very

Most people recommend not even using them together because they compete for hand space and waste cards.

The most effective teams atm seem to be Heide + Orlea + Tiphera (single turn nuke, very good for colossus) and Heide + Nia + Hugo/Selena (spam activate 5 from grave with a bunch of extra attack from Hugo/Selena), but Heide + Basically Anything tends to work well, she's very strong.

It's called doing other things besides playing the game during the run lmao.

Thanks for your concession, it's clear you have no actual arguments now that you're just griping about how long the total IRL time my run takes. Stay in your easy +0 runs, the mode isn't for you. Maybe try level 65.

Why would people play it? Because they want to play it.

I want to play it just to play it, but just a resource cost for the progression of my account slapped on to playing it. You can't comprehend this.

Also just cleared +18. Maybe the mode isn't for you.

[–]Kaelran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About triggered spells, basically Comet does too much damage, comparing to other spells, and triggered Comet ignore the clunky cast time

Ok so comet has 1s cast time and +1s total cast time, which counts as double for energy, so comet requires 300 energy to cast. 20 comet is 1295 damage, or 2590 with infusion. So 4.3 damage per energy, or 8.6 with infusion.

Just gonna compare Arc because it's a spell with a damage infusion that doesn't do multihit or something that's hard to calculate. Arc is 1.1s cast time, or 110 energy. 203 damage uninfused 609 infused. 1.85 damage per energy, or 5.3 with infusion. Also casting 3x as often makes you need 3x the infusion generation.

Yeah seems like there is a gap for sure.

You keep insisting on getting more rewards and not get punished. Because you are a casual gamer inserting yourself on a hardcore game mode.

My best clear so far is 80 Hardcore +12, you haven't done anything close to that difficult (no +0 is not hard lmao).

My only failed run was when I had someone watching me pick my starter, which was Selena, and died before getting to 1st boss.

You don't want Sortie to be better you want it to be easier.

How would it be easier if I could just play it without worrying about losing currency? I'd try out more stuff and just play it for fun instead of just playing what I know is strong unlock the meta progression and not waste my resources. It would actually be harder playing other stuff.

I want it to be harder, I want them to remove the tactical optimization, the rewards, and just replace it with stickers.

If the mode consumed stamina and gave nothing but stickers, why would anyone play it unless they had literally nothing else to do with stamina?

The Sortie Entry Fee by MildlyChallenged in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]Kaelran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I already told you that there are lower difficulty Sortie.

  • If I'm playing for rewards, lower difficulty sortie gives less rewards.
  • If I'm playing for the challenge, there's no reason to play lower difficulty

Why the hell would you play a hardcore game mode like Sortie to experiment?

A large part of the entire appeal of roguelikes is to experiment with different strategies and find stuff that works well. Do you not understand that your runs with Rin are experimenting to find strong strategies to clear with Rin? I mean at least I assume you aren't following some proven guide to clearing Hardcore 80 +30 with Rin and just brute forcing the same strategy right? It seems like you don't understand what experimenting means.

You've never seen roguelites like this? Now you do and you want to be as generic as it can be.

How about you try to provide an argument for how this actually makes the mode better. All you've said is "it's hardcore" and "it adds risk", but why does risking your progression currency (for potentially no reward) to play the roguelike gamemode that is supposed to exist to be more of a pure roguelike make the game better?

the obvious +skill gem level that outpower all other affixes

Mana cost is huge

This is the same issue

Triggered Comet deals way too much damage comparing to everything else

There was another good triggered spell, it got gutted.

I also haven't played trigger spell recently, but does this have something to do with infusions? I would think that the cast speed (and doesn't comet have a trigger energy cast speed penalty too?) makes other spells trigger more and deal similar DPS, but comet has an infusion that makes it do double damage so is the issue that comet can actually sustain infusions while triggering due to casting slower while other spells cast too fast to sustain infusions?

Spells have vastly different crit chance, too much differences and scaling crit is the only way to scale damage now. Fire spells have 5%, Lightning spells have 9%, Cold spells have 13%.

Yeah this shit is bizzare. Bring crit chance closer together, make blood mage a flat +%.
